PARKER MARATHON
March 8-9, 2003
9th Annual Parker Marathon, the first qualifying Speed Ski Race for the World Championships in October of this year. Races Saturday and Sunday starting at 7 AM in front of BlueWater. smile_sp

Yeah we'll be there. The HB jets, C-ya's, Flat Brokes, Hack Jobs and Whipped Caliber will be all staying at C-ya's place that weekend. I don't know if my boat will be done in time or if I will even bring it. If the races are going most of the day then I might just wait to take it the next weekend (15th, one week before the wedding) or the 23nd when we go out for a week. Hell it's been so long since I had my own boat I don't care which weekend I take it at this point, just as long as I have it by summer! Plus the last couple of weekends have been pretty damn cold! Oh and a BBQ or Road Runner gathering or both sounds good to me! I think we may put together a little fire pit action at C-ya's place Saturday night to.

C-ya is the name of a member here on the boards, that has a trailer just up the street from the Blue Water. A bunch of us are staying there this weekend. I hope he doesn't read this, then he will think he is a camp ground! :D
You may check and see if in fact they have moved, the start is at the Blue Water but they may run all the way to La Paz. They have in years past.

Last time I went, October 2001 for the World Championships, they did not run all the way to La Paz...they turned about 1/4 mile south of it.

C-Ya's RV & River Resort, has kind of a nice ring to it!
First, I do not have a trailer, any respectable person living in a trailer park would consider it a manufactured home. Do travel trailers come with 4 bedrooms? Andy, you make it sound like the wheels are still on it!
Anyways, for those of you that are staying at my house over the weekend, I look forward to seeing you. For those of you that are not, you are welcome to come by for the races (they will be right in front of the house) or the bonfire that we will have on Saturday night, probably Friday Night also.
Even though so many of you already know where my house is, for those who don't, you will have to e-mail me or anybody else on my guest list for directions. I certainly willing to have a big group over, I just don't want the directions posted on an open forum...I hope you all understand! I am currenty expecting around 30 to 40 people on Saturday night and the more the merrier!
We will probbably take quads and golf carts to the race pits on Saturday.

I'll be there. I'm staying in the keys. Look for the Sign FX banner. We always watch the races from the dock, while we drive golf over the river. No we don't try and hit the skiers, we know most of them having been around the sport for over 10 years. Anyways, we'll go skiing in between races. Maybe we'll see ya out there.

So I sent C-Ya an email for directions....but it is questionable if I am going to make it down on Saturday afternoon or night... It is turning into one of those Good / So So weekends at Parker....Good that I get to go, but so so that I have to play hostess to my in-laws and relatives on their first river trip, oh'well have to make the best of it...guess I get to do my partying next weekend during the first spring break weekend...Hopefully, I will be able to break away for a couple hours, but we will see. Also, probably going to go boating on Havasu on Saturday since we have sign papers for a lot up there...Oh'well..boating with in-laws is 200% better than NOT boating.. :)
