Hard to believe he is able to take his hand off the wheel to shift. Guess there is more to it than just hangin on!!

I raced shifter karts for a few years. Mine was capable of 110 m.p.h. on the big tracks (Laguna Seca, etc.). In a typical field of thirty entries, I usually finished seventh or eighth. I raced against Memo Gidley (now driving the old Indy cars) and he usually won. Lots of talent out there.
But this Kart with a GSXR 1100cc engine is absolutely off the hook. WAY too fast for the sprint track that it is on, and too much power for the rear wheels to even hook up. Still, the standard 250cc Shifter Karts of today could smoke it on any track. Looks like fun, though.
The average 125cc Shifter Kart has a power-to-weight ratio like that of a Formula 1 car.

I was just thinking that my "power to weight" ratio has been shifting these past few years too. :D :D :D

You know, for the life of me I haven't figured out why someone hasn't crammed a 2 or 3 1100cc GSXR/Ninja motors into a Bug or a Ghia. No reverse would be el sucko, but it sure would be fun to go clobber a Vette or two with it..
