Had one stuck in my head for a few days so I finally Googled it and found out the title and the artist in an article the search turned up.
The article was evil! It also mentioned other TV show theme songs I'd forgotten about ... this triggered remembering other theme songs of shows I used to watch ... suddenly I HAD to hear them ... so yeah Kazaa works. :o
Now I have 15 TV show theme songs on my media player and when I play them they make me feel good like the shows used to make me feel. The Kazaa versions usually have more verses than the TV shows did and some of the extra lyrics crack me up, too. Nostalgia is weird ... okay maybe not .. maybe it's just me who is lol! *shrugs* Oh well worse things I could be I suppose. :)
Oh the one that was stuck in my head? The theme from Greatest American Hero "Believe It Or Not" by Joey Scarbury.
Some of the other ones I grabbed are:
Welcome Back Kotter theme
Cheers theme (that one could double as The Sandbar theme song IMO lol! wink )
Family Ties theme (plus an associated song "At This Moment" by Billy Vera And The Beaters- still remember that scene so clearly ... cry )
Growing Pains theme
Three's Company theme
Facts of Life theme
Diff'rent Strokes theme
The Beverly Hillbillies theme
Silver Spoons theme
Moonlighting theme
Anyway the point of this fluffy post lol is I'm hoping some of you will share what your fave TV show theme songs were/(are?) cuz I'm curious and also cuz I'm thinking there are ones I've still forgotten about that I probably will want to Kazaa. :D Thanks. :)

Two great themes.
I also would think Hawaii 5-0 should be in there with the all time great themes.

Top of the list bar none.........The Munsters...Second theme.... not the first.
Another jam that could be updated.....and we played it heavier with our band is the theme to Barney Miller....a real good funk feel with guitar with distortion where the sax part is normally played.

Gary Hoey did a real cool Linus and Lucy jam.....Theme to Peanuts. It rocks.

Not many people know there are actually lyrics to the Andy Griffith theme song:
The Andy Griffith Show Theme Song Lyrics
Title: "The Fishin' Hole"
By: "Everett Sloane, Earle Hagen and Herbert Spencer"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, now, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole.
We may not get a bite all day, but don't you rush away.
What a great place to rest your bones and mighty fine for skippin' stones,
You'll feel fresh as a lemonade, a-settin' in the shade.
Whether it's hot,
whether it's cool,
oh what a spot,
for whistlin' like a fool.
What a fine day to take a stroll and wander by The Fishin' Hole.
I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day.
We'll have no need to call the roll when we get to The Fishin' Hole.
There'll be you, me, and Old Dog Trey, to doodle time away.
If we don't hook a perch or bass, we'll cool our toes in dewy grass,
Or else pull up a weed to chaw, and maybe set and jaw.
Hangin' around,
takin' our ease,
watchin' that hound,
a-scratchin' at his fleas.
Come on, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole.
I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day.

The Banana Splits
Written by Ritchie Adams & Mark Barkan
One banana, two banana, three banana, four
Four bananas make a bunch and so do many more.
Over hill and highway the banana buggies go
Comin' to bring you the Banana Split show
Makin' up a mess of fun, makin' up a mess of fun
Lots of fun for everyone
(CHORUS)
Tra la la, la la la la
Tra la la, la la la la
Four banana, three banana, two banana, one
All bananas playin' in the bright warm sun.
Flippin' like a pancake, popping like a cork
Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper an' Snork
(REPEAT CHORUS)
Two banana, four banana, one banana, three
Swingin' like a bunch on monkeys, hangin' from a tree.
Hey there, ev'rybody, won't you come along and see
How much like Banana Splits ev'ryone can be
(REPEAT CHORUS)
Makin up a mess of fun
Makin up a mess of fun
Happiness for ev'ryone
Tra la la, la la la la
Tra la la, la la la la
Tra la la, la la la la

Laverne and Shirley Tv Show Theme Song Lyrics
Title: "Making our Dreams Come True"
By: "Norman Gimbel and Charles Fox"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
Sclemeel, schlemazel, hasenfeffer incorporated.
We're gonna do it!
Give us any chance, we'll take it.
Give us any rule, we'll break it.
We're gonna make our dreams come true.
Doin' it our way.
Nothin's gonna turn us back now,
Straight ahead and on the track now.
We're gonna make our dreams come true,
Doin' it our way.
There is nothing we won't try,
Never heard the word impossible.
This time there's no stopping us.
We're gonna do it.
On your mark, get set, and go now,
Got a dream and we just know now,
We're gonna make our dream come true.
And we'll do it our way, yes our way.
Make all our dreams come true,
And do it our way, yes our way,
Make all our dreams come true
For me and you.

Bonanza Lyrics and Theme!
Bonanza
We chased lady luck, 'til we finally
struck Bonanza
With a gun and a rope and a hat full of hope,
we planted our family tree.
We got hold of a pot full of gold,
Bonanza
With a horse and a saddle, and a range full of cattle, How rich can a fellow be?
On this land we put our brand, Cartwright is the name, Fortune smiled, the day we filed the Ponderosa claim.
Here in the west, we're livin' in the best
Bonanza
If anyone fights any one of us,
he's got a fight with me
Bonanza
Hoss and Joe and Adam know
every rock and pine
No one works fights, or eats,
like those boys of mine
Here we stand in the middle of a grand
Bonanza
With a gun and a rope and a hatful of hope,
we planted our family tree,
We got a hold of a potful of gold
Bonanza
With a houseful of friends where the rainbow ends,
How rich can a fellow be?
On this land we put our brand Cartwright is the name,
Fortune smiled, the day we filed the Ponderosa claim
Here in the west we're living in the best
Bonanza
With the friendliest, fightingist, lovingist band,
That ever set foot in the promised land
And we're happier than them all.
That's why we call it
Bonanza...bonanza.. bonanza..

Car 54, Where Are You? Tv Show Theme Song Lyrics
Title: "Car 54"
By: "Ned Hiken"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There's a holdout in the Bronx,
Brooklyn's broken out in fights,
There's a traffic jam in Harlem
That's backed up to Jackson Heights.
There's a Scout troop short a child,
Khrushchev's due at Idelwyld,
CAR 54, WHERE ARE YOU?

The definition of cool would have to be Humphry Bogart (as Rick) in a black 66 GTO pulling up to talk to John Shaft while playing the theme from Peter Gunn. Now that would be cool through the ages    .

A cop named Michael Long was shot in the face by criminals he was investigating. A man named Wilton Knight, who worked for the Knight Foundation for Law and Government (F. L. A. G.), found him and rescued him. He was revived in the F. L. A. G. medical center. He was given a new face and identity. Michael Long was pronounced dead, he is now known as Michael Knight. He now works at F. L. A. G. and has a new car. A car unlike any other. . . The Knight Industry Two Thousand (K. I. T. T.). The fastest, safest, and strongest car in the world.

Don't forget the RIFLEMAN

Thank-you ever so much everybody ... I now have 43 TV show theme songs on my media player! :D
HammerDown I even have Mr. Ed, lol! I have seen a few epi's of it on Sunday afternoons when I was younger ... that's the beauty of re-runs ... it was before my time but I still got to watch it sometimes.
Some of the themes mentioned didn't sound familiar to me but I dl'd 'em anyway to take a listen.
For instance the whole Peter Gunn thing. I've never seen it (I don't think) but soon as I heard it start to play I was like ohhhh THAT one! Agreement that is a way cool theme!
I had forgotten about the Knight Rider theme ... I like that one too. :)
Some other ones I grabbed which were not mentioned so far I don't think ...
Happy Days
Mary Tyler Moore Show
COPS
MASH
Perfect Strangers
CSI
Initially I was thinking I only wanted themes with lyrics but I'm glad so many suggestions were made for ones that are just music ... those are great to have playing if I'm trying to write otherwise I get distracted and sing along and no writing gets done that way, lol. I have to have music on pretty much all the time.
It was so cool rediscovering so many themes from some of my all time favorite TV shows. I don't even watch TV anymore ... seriously. Well maybe I will again when new seasons of CSI, ER, and Law & Order Special Victims Unit start up. Ugh, but then I'd have to turn my music off and deal with commercial breaks ... I might have some issues with that, lol ... oh I guess I could tape the shows and hit FFWD through commercials ... the music off thing though ... I just don't know ... maybe just turned down low ... boxed
Hope everyone is having a great night ... it's a boat related terms research night for me (this is getting more and more difficult but I've only got 178 more to go- as of this post.) Goodnight everyone. Thanks again for all your suggestions. TTFN :)

Fish don't fry in the kitchen;
Beans don't burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin'
Just to get up that hill.
Now we're up in teh big leagues
Gettin' our turn at bat.
As long as we live, it's you and me baby
There ain't nothin wrong with that.
Well we're movin on up,

Love and Marriage, Love and Marriage,
Go together like a horse and carriage,
This I tell ya brother, you can't have one without the other.
Love and Marriage, Love and Marriage,
It's an institute you can't disparage,
Ask the local gentry, and they will say is element'ry.
Try, try, try to separate them,
It's an illusion.
Try, try, try and you will only come
to this conclusion.
Love and Marriage, Love and Marriage,
Go together like a horse and carriage,
Dad was told by mother
You can't have one
You can't have none
You can't have one without the other.
