I've got a bet going on with a drunk buddy....help me win 50 bucks
If I wanted a certain item cost to be a certain percentage of the selling price what formula do I use. For example.............
If I wanted my $9.76 widget to be only 29 percent of my selling price, how do I go about doing the math quickly and efficiently and coming up with a selling price.
Thanks in advance - you math nerd :p :p

Divide your cost by 0.29.
Selling price = X
Your cost = C
0.29 * X = C so X = C/0.29
Make sense?

So 29%=Nub

Or, if you wanted a real quick approximation, you could just multiply your cost by 3.5.

lol. You guys just made me look like a genius and won me 50 bucks. :D
Thanks, math nerds. j/k
Beers on me when you come out to Palm Desert or I see ya on the water. I'll even give you a ride in my cart Nubbs. In fact, I'm installing the seat tomorrow when I get there.
Thanks again fellas.

How'd you come up with 3.5?

So 29%=Nub
Actually, 29% would be more like Nu.........

How'd you come up with 3.5?
1 / 0.29 = 3.448
9.76 / .29 = 33.65
9.76 * 3.5 = 34.16
It gives a good approximation if you don't have a calculator.
