I just had to post a big thanks to Howard Custom Boats for designing such a great boat, and to Dustin Whipple for your Quad Rotor efi set up. Our new 25 Bullet ran 111 mph on GPS at havasu 2 days ago and is soooooooo fun to drive. My wife even loves it. We are going to have a great boating season with it, and are looking forward to more prop testing and speed runs. I received an unbelievable amount of support with this project and I could not be happier.

GT, your boat was the white/orage boat at the show right? and you built the motor....that was my favorite boat at the show. Great to hear it ran good.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, it means a lot. I am just getting used to all of this "on line" stuff so I am not sure how to post a pic, although I have a ton of them on disc, any advise? The motor is a 540 tall deck running 10 lbs of boost, through Dart CNC ported heads. It turns a Teague Platnum Shaft XR with an Imco lower unit. 111 mph at 5800 with a 32 lab. I am out the door right now, but I will post after 6:00 tonight here in cali.
Take care guys

I second that request for pics.
I am curious how much power your engine made at 5800 RPM since that is where it is running.
Sounds like a first rate combination.

Info,
It made 972.5 hp and 882.5 ft/tor at 5800. That is only what we took it to. It was still pulling very hard. I think it will pull up and over 6000 very easily. We were just in shock when we looked down at the speedo and had to stop and cheer!

GT,
I am pretty sure this is your rig. I was there with my wife and brother and talked to you for about 30 minutes regarding your build up of the bullett. That was my favorite of the show...Also, if CAT insurance keeps going through the roof, the 25 will be my next boat...w/Quad/EFI of course...again great looking boat. :)

GT that's great I was the guy you talked to at the show about the size of the motor. I think i will be going with the 572ci Quad Rotor efi set up. Man that's the one fast boat!!! 10 lbs of boost that,s a little more then mine right now, with a sig. whipple.
eek! eek!
Looks like Hot Boat needs to test this boat. The 28' Howard last year went 104mph and at that time was the fastest V-hull.

Im back,
The water conditions were: light wind and 8" chop. The boat really loves 1' and bigger chop, its unbelievable. HDD: The boat really accelerates, I did not think it was possible to pull that hard in a stern drive boat! At 100 + the boat was straight as an arrow, and just to clarify, at 111 I was somewhat in shock, the boat was just marching hard and gaining more mph. I did NOT want more, but the boat did, it wants to go faster. Time for a helmet I think?

Good morning!
Great looking boat! Makes me rethink Howard!
To post pictures you must have them on the internet somewere. SO you must upload them to a site. You can go Here and do it (http://www.hotboatpics.com) or Here. (http://www.***boat.com/image_center/index.php) you will just need to do a quick register it takes two minutes. Then you upload the pictures by following the directions.
When you have the picture uploaded to the site. Then you right click on the picture. (Make sure its full size) and then scroll down to properties and highlight all the info It will look like this http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/508/318Howard1-med.JPG
all you need to do is type a in front of that and a in back of that info and
Presto
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/508/318Howard1-med.JPG
and do the same for the next picture
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/508/318Howard2-med.JPG
make sure you put the and in front and behind each picture and your done!

River Wild,
At this point, purchasing a 25' Bullet before all the Magazine coverage would be a huge investment for you. Yes an Investment! :D These Howard V's really hold their resale value, and after driving mine and the cuddy open bow, I guarantee you will be 100% satified, The cuddy open bow ran almost 79mph on GPS with 2 big guys in it and quite a bit of fuel with an out of the box HP500. I know these 25's top to bottom and can give you any information you request. I will be home today I will post some cool pics from Havasu.

First of all, congratulations to GT on the very impressive numbers. Don’t ya just love it when a plan comes together!
Second, did anyone check out Infomanic’s marine assault engine buildup? The link is in his signature. Awesome job Infomanic and thanks so much for taking the time to shoot all the photos and post all of that.
And last but not least. How the hell do you post a pic to the media center? I’m a registered user but even when I login I don’t see the link to post a new pic. It comes right up on ***boatpics and I have posted there. What am I not seeing?

To me it is easier to have both the image center and the forums up at the same time.
Start you post and type what you want to say. Minimize that page.
Go to image center (without closing the page you are posting on, just minimize it) and open the pic you want to load.
Put your cursor on top of the pic.
Right click the mouse.
Box will open up.
Go down to properties and left click the mouse.
You will see an address.
Highlight it by putting your cursor at the start and hold down the left cursor and move over the address. When the address is highlighted...
Left click the mouse and hit copy. Minimize the image center.
Bring back up the screen where you are posting the pic on and right below the box you are typing in you will see a small box (there are ten of the small boxes) called "Image".
Left click on it.
A box will open for you to put the address of pic you want to post.
Put you cursor on it and left click on it.
Right click paste.
Left click ok.
All done!
It sounds harder that it is. Just follow the steps outline in this post. You can load as many pics in one post as you want. Good luck.

RW,
You really need to go for a test ride in one of these 25 Bullets, It Will Blow Your Mind! I am not kidding, this is the best all around boat I have ever driven, It turns like a tournament boat, and excellerates like a rocket with any motor combination(except maybe a 4.3 v6). Ill bet it would still go 55 though!
RW, Let me know exactly what kind of info you need and I will follow through asap. The Willen Family over at Howard are really good people, they have been there for me for over 8 years. You would be very happy with the whole build process. I believe there is a 25 Bullet Closed Bow being built right now with a 496 HO, It looks really cool.

GT - We live about 5 minutes from Howard and have talked with Mike about the Bullet at the show. A question...how did the boat handle the slop in Havasu? Wakes, etc. - ya' know ... the usual crap on the north side of the channel and island? We have a 21' know and want to move to the 25 - 26' range (garage restrictions) and the Bullet sounds ideal if the ride improves.
Thanks in advance!

I make this statement in TOTAL confidence:
THE BOAT LOVES BIG WATER! The entry is so deep that it slices through the BIG rollers, and when your ready to really jump on it, give it some trim and go. I have a wife and 2 little girls, we have been stuck in some big monsoons and survived in very small boats. There is no doubt in my mind, we would not only survive in this 25, but we might even outrun it! Go for a test drive, you will not believe it.

Its orange and white with dark grey checks. It's in the showroom now with the coyote sitting in it. Gene is installing a 496HO and completing some small revisions, then its off to the stereo shop. It's my first boat and a perfect size to learn on and still look good doing it! I'm a little concerned regarding rough water handling, but that will just make us more appreciative when we trade it up for the 25 Bullet in 18 months. I've already talked to Gene about this....he's so cool by saying just bring the 22 Sport back in mint condition and he'll give full value trade in!!! I'd like to have Paul Pfaff build an EFI motor for it.

I built that boat one year ago(I thought that might be the one you were talking about). You will love it. My wife cried when I talked about trading it in. It ran 82 mph on GPS, and I have several pics of it going fast as well as pics of it while I rigged it. Look behind the dash, there is some serious time in one of these Howards wiring.
