Update: The Real Bubb Rubb Stands Up
OAKLAND, Calif. (Wireless Flash) -- Woo woo! The mysterious internet superstar Bubb Rubb has finally surfaced to comment on his newfound fame.
The 28-year-old bus detailer from Oakland, California, became a cult hero in online circles after appearing on a local TV news report about a "whistle tips," a popular car modification which makes your car muffler go -- in the words of Rubb -- "woo woo!"
Now, there are countless websites, songs and t-shirt designs dedicated to the man.
Rubb -- whose real name is Lynell Griffin -- says life has changed since the hubbub began.
For example, now when he goes to places like the DMV "people say `you was on TV, you was on TV'" and ask him to utter his trademark phrase: "The whistles go woo wooooo!"
Bubb Rubb says he always knew something like this would happen to him and now he's looking for an agent to help him break into showbiz.
