I would recommend a Olympus c-5050 digital camera. I just bought one and it's amazing!

those are really great pictures! take a look on my profile to view my lightning photography using my new Olympus c-5050. Great camera for capturing lightning thanks to the ability to leave the shutter open to expose the CCD eek!

nice shot RiverRat - i'm kinda afraid of lightning so i would be hiding rather than taking the pictures !!

sunbunny did you take all those pics yourself? Whoever did has an incredibly artistic eye! Wow! I can hardly wait to see your scenery shots of Whitehorse. I love to look at nice pictures. :)

yup, those are mine - i love taking pictures - if you saw my house you would truly know the real me (scary but true) that's why i NEED a new camera - i have my digital, but i prefer a film camera over that - looking at either a canon or nikon...both to much money but worth it i think
i really wish i could post the ones i've taken of my daughter - anyone that sees them figures i should enter them in contests, there beautiful
FM-i will post the ones of Whitehorse as soon as we're moved and unpacked, there pretty amazing- just like the land up there

I use a Nikon N-70 w/auto focus with a Tamron 28-300 lens And the settings are so perfect that you can let the camera's computer do all the work!

If you have good lenses from your previous camera, stick with bodies that allow you to use the lenses. If you are talking point and shoot, any brand name with the features you want will do fine.
