How funny, i just saw Powerboat mag for sale at the Ralph's store here in Fontana, you don't normally see that kind of magazine in the stores out here unless you are at the Boat dealers or a boat show. it's the first time i saw any magazine for Boats there, lots of PWC and Quad magazines, well other than the Boat Trader. I saw something funny in a PowerBoat advertising sales pitch. The demographics of the PowerBoat reader is,
91% Male (duh!)
Avg household income $205,000 a year (wow!)
Avg net worth $1.2m (2x wow!)
Avg boat length 27' (no wonder they test big boats)
7 out of 10 own boats (really!)
So if you don't fit those demos then you can't read their mag.
I fit only 2 of the above demos, how about you????

Try "subscribing".
It's cheaper.
It requires snail-mail. But the little boogers usually make it with your magazine intact. They don't care much for boats and large bodies of water, anyhoo. Make's 'em think of bait and hooks.
:D

Yes, Its right around the corner from the fire station I work at, we call the newsstand "Porno Jims magazine stand" He has it all, except for the new powerboat! I checked today, he said the end of the week. I even have a subscribtion, but it hasnt arrived. Thanks anyway, and I dont fit much of that above "powerboat" criteria, not even a 27 ft boat.

it's amazing even up here in Nor-Cal with all the water and boat owners there are only a couple boating mags. but if you're in to quilting they've got you covered  i don't buy the line "they don't sale". when i worked at ralphs we would send back as many as they delivered on a lot of the other mags.

P.S. GT - Pick up a copy at Teague's when you're at Howard tomorrow if you don't get one by then. Also, "The Newstand" in Valencia (in the K-Mart shopping center) has EVERY boating mag I have every seen including those for yachts.

I heard they have a bunch of PB magazines at Howard. I am going out there now to get a head start on the oil change and service. I dont want to be there Saturday too. It sounds like I will be talking to Dan(MMD) tomorrow so I will be able to get some things done today. I did hear that the PB mag said the 25 is not as stable as the 28 at really high speeds, that could be taken several different ways, but it is smaller and lighter and running well over 100 mph on LAKE MEAD! Everyone there that day said they really liked it, that made my wife and I happy. And once again Charley your boat is Hot.

I like the flames blue in front and white at the transom. Neat trick most people probly didn't notice.
It's amazing how many V bottoms are running 100+. Kudos to Cig for that 38TG running 105+ with only 1500HP!! jawdrop And a full cabin too! eek!

The words the PB said were something to that effect..."...not as stable as the 28' but a 25' boat at over 100 mph is always a handleful..." At least that's what I remember.

I got my Powerboat today, Got a kick out of the "cheeks flappin" in some of the pics. I did read what it said about MY 25 bullet, and I have a few points to make, 1. I set my boat up personally by puting an imco lower unit on it without a standoff box which is something they dont normally do over at Howard, they like to run a conventional lower unit due to the efficiency of the bottom, If they do run an imco, its ALWAYS with a standoff box, my boat has very sensitive steering because of this, I like it, but it sounds like they felt like it took talent to drive it over 100, I guess im talented :D . 2. On the note of efficiency check out the speed to RPM numbers on the V's at 4500 rpm on page 98, thats an efficient bottom design! Lastly, We brought the smallest boat with the least amount of total power to the test, especially the V's, and the fastest V hull ran .7 of a mph faster than us, not too bad. Im happy to have my boat in powerboat, my wife drives it almost as much as I do and we love it. Thanks for all the support guys.

GT I read that story(Hot Boat?) which told how the 25 was built off the 28. Very interesting how the hull was cut and the steps were positioned.

GT, I read the article, and I still felt the 25 was the best V out there for going fast, and it was probably better than some Cat's....Now they need to make one with canopies  eek! :) :D
