We passed a law here in Arizona a couple years back nicknamed the "Stupid Motorist Law." This basically says if you do something like this, or drive around barricades on a road to keep you out of a flowing wash (this happens when we get rain in Phoenix) you are responsible for the costs associated with saving your dumb ass. People still drive around the barricades and get stuck just about everytime we get enough rain to flood too. At least the taxpayers aren't stuck paying for it anymore.
