Ok, I'm from Denver (although currently residing in Arizona) and know nothing about California.

How far are the races? 1/16 of a mile?
Not to bag on Ming, but I've been there, its all weedy and nasty. Bakersfield lakes are like water filled dikes. Nacimiento is worth the drive...

1/4 mile and the IHBA races there too (sometimes) and a lot of IHBA guys test at the NJBA races. Madness has run there many times.

Not to bag on Ming, but I've been there, its all weedy and nasty. Bakersfield lakes are like water filled dikes. Nacimiento is worth the drive... You go to Ming to race and race only.
NJBA, IHBA and APBA all have had races there.
It's plenty big for racing.

i cant wait to go. personally this is my favorite lake to go to for the races. me and the lady bring a pair of lawn chairs and an ice chest, find a place in the grass under the shade and relax and watch some racing.
