What will work best to clean Gel coat????

I keep getting this scum on my boat. I end up using 409 whitewall cleaner and compound to get this stuff off. Someone please tell me something that works better.... smile_sp

The scum lines will continue until you polish that thing out and put a good coat of wax on it. I had the same problem for years until recently. :D

Also during the day while I'm on the water I will go around the boat and and whipe it off it really seems to help at the end of the day

CLR if it is hard water issue, I put it in a spray bottle. Spray it on and let it sit for 30 seconds.....But the waxing is the right idea. Put on a couple of coats and fill in the pores so the scummy stuff can't get a grip on it.

Be careful what you use to wipe down your boat. Many products will strip the wax right off and you're back where you started!
For example, dish soap strips wax right off. I'm not sure about vinegar but I bet it will too. First thing you might want to do is wash with dish soap removing all wax and dirt and grime. Then wax once or twice. Then be very careful what you wash/clean with (use a car wash soap - it won't strip off the wax). There's no sense removing all the wax you worked so hard to put on.

I have used ProTect ALL on my RV's, Boats and Cars and it leaves a Durable shine, super slick coating and it contains UV inhibitors. I have had good luck with it.

I found the answer.... idea After trying several things that did nothing. I tried some Muriatic Acid....The shit works wonders. Now once it is clean, I will buff the balls out of it. Then I will put the wax to it.
I will take a picture of the difference before and after.... :D
