Un-Official Howard Custom Boats Regatta

I talked to Mike Willen today and he is all for having an un-official regatta to hopefully show his dad that people are interested. Anyone interested, either post or PM me and lets see if there is enough interest to put forth the effort. Worst case scenario is a weekend at the river with alot of nice boats and proud owners. Nick

A little more response. Let's tell some more people. I live in San Diego and was the only Howard owner down here for awhile, but in Havasu or the SCV there has to be a bunch of owners. More, More, More!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you know people who own Howards that would be interested tell them and the sooner we start planning the more likely we are to pull it off. I know that Mike will come if we put it together and then hopefully he can take it from there. You figure 10 to 15 Howards equals 1,000,000.00 so I can't think of a reason it won't happen eventually. I wont be out at havasu until aug.1-3. I think the regatta would be a good thing if someone can put it together.Let me or us Howard owners whats going on in the near future. :cool:

Now this is cool. Ill be there for sure. Im thinking early September would probably get it done. I guarantee I can get shirts made up. I have 5 or more Howards locally here in NP. Ill bet we get close to 50 boats or more! I will be at Howard Friday and Saturday getting the 25 Bullet ready for the Sacramento bridge to bridge radar run/poker run on the 19th. I will talk to The Willen Family personally. :D Lets try to make it "official"!

Good luck talking Gene into it. I have talked to Mike and he's all for it. Not that he is going to foot the bil or anything, but he would show up and support for sure. I'm kinda thing first part of next summer for a big, planned un-official regatta. I think a gathering to plan next year soon would be great. We will be out there Aug. 8 - 11. Let's make a plan. Well, I did talk to both Gene and Mike personally about it, I would like all of you to know I recieved no negative feedback. But I do kind of agree with SDLifesaver, we should get a bunch of Howards together this summer for a gathering, and Ill bet we could have a bigger official one next year. It is knid of late notice to have a ass kicking regatta this season. I will be seeing Gene tomorrow, and Magic MOuntain Dan! If I get all my work done maybe he will want to go for a ride? Anyway, we all need to get the word out to all the Howard folks about a possible get together soon, then make a contact list for everyone, post a time/date, and all show up!

Well it's Saturday the 12th and I had a long talk with Mike today. Besides preparing to give him 120 large for our new boat, he is really into the Regatta. He says he monitors the topic all the time and is following what we are talking about. Let's all meet in Havasu soon and prepare for a BAD ASS REGATTA next year. We have room for 2 other famlies/couples at our house so let's get it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nick

Are you having a boat built? Whats it gonna be. We will be cruising around Havasu probably on Sunday the 20th. I dont see why we cant get some Howards together this year for a little fun, and plan an event for next year.

Is it the 12th or the 20th??? Once we land on a date we need to get a list of Howard Boat owners form the Willens or post a killer thread. Gene has a Howard cat owner buddy out at Havasu that we should contact. I'm sure he would help. What about getting as many folks to stay at the Nautical as possible, centrally located, nice launch near by and oh, did I mention killer Margs? That may get Gene to come. Let's make this happen! I have a couple of Howard cat owners that will love this news!!
