Damn, and I thought we were gonna see a bikini shot.
Anyways, get 3M polishing compound and a buffer(circular not orbital). Use compound first, then polish. Both with the wheel. Then use a good carnauba wax to protect. Anyone can do it. Just takes a little elbow grease. You can get all the supplies at any auto paint or detail store. Good luck.

Hmmm I'm always reading about waxing boats. But most of the experianced boaters I know say not to wax gelcoat. I waxed mine with a major brand's marine wax at the start of this season and it gunked up quickly. Which is it? Should you or should you not wax gelcoat?

I haven't had a problem with mine.

Steve,
3M Hand Glaze or polish.
NO WAX
I use the 3M Hand Glaze on the Ole Hallett.
It seems to work for me, would you not agree. wink

Yes, Dave I agree, unless those rumors about your boat's real colors being candy apple red and yellow are true. wink wink :D

From my experience, the polish really brings out the shine. But the wax is what protects the surface from the elements. When I have just waxed my boat and take it out, the boat obviously wipes down better at the end of the day. I know when it's time to wash and re-wax the thing because the spots start to become a bitch to get out. I use carnauba only. Apply in the shade. Thin coats, don't cake it on. Stuff goes on easy, and comes off easy. I prefer paste, not liquid.

But having something called Carnuba on my boat sounds soooo sissy. Couldn't they have called it Bubbanewcar wax instead of Carnuba Wax.

I use a variety of cleaners and rubs from 3M and a teflon based polish that I swear by. You can see yourself in the side of the boat clearly and wiping down is a breeze. I think it is called Driven Polish.

i am with partycat ...i fell for the sales pitch at a boat show for the driven product and it is by far the best polish and wax i have ever used...
better yet...have warlock 25 do his stuff and use the driven product!!!
