Well, I did it. Wanted to get something a little sportier than the old boat hauler to drive around so for my birthday I went and bought something fun. :D What do you think....1999 Mustang Cobra Convertible! eek! Not the best picture but I will get some better ones soon.

4.6 L dual overhead cams, 4 valve motor? I have one in my lincoln, when you get read to put a chip in it get ahold of dennis rienhart at reinhart automotive he is on the web, he custom burns chips and they kick ass. Very nice ride you have there.

It upped the timming, got rid of speed limitors, and upped the rpm limiter. Changed the shift, auto trans now barks the tires going into second gear, the fan runs more and the car runs cooler, I am very happy with the chip, also changed the fuel curve and is making more hp than before.

HEY KEV...I'm not so sure about that chip...The specs/parameters on the COBRA are ALREADY close to max...The LINCOLN motor would respond WAY MORE to the chip bcause it is NOT a hi-po car but a luxury car & is quite a bit heavier than the MUSTANG as well...There are a BUNCH of other low/no cost improvements that can be done to your car...KN filter, set the TPS to the EXACT voltage in the manual, remove the air silencer(if it has one),etc...There are many mags devoted to the MUSTANG...The BEST advice is to get educated BEFORE you start doing things to it...That's a REALLY nice car...HAPPY MOTORING...

Sweet ride there.......Ok this is what you need.BFG drag radials,VHT,and a dry NOS kit or wet either way.Youll be waxing up ZO6's in a heart beat......Dont miss shift either. :D :D

nhbuoy-you are right about the chip. I spoke with Dennis at Reinhart Automotive and he said that there isn't much that their chip would do. About my only option at this point is to supercharge it. But I think I will just keep it like it is for a long time...it is fast enough. :D

http://www.lasvegas***boats.com/iB_html/uploads/post-2-27673-Mvc_875s.jpg Wow!!! Nice ride and fast too. I say leave the truck and boat at the river, use the Mustang to fly under the radar and run back and forth to the river really really fast...
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!! It would be hard to get the kids, wife and ALL the crap we take to the river in it. Good idea though. wink
