Are you sure it's a Chevy? What's with the rag stuffed in there behind the water pump. Is that the distributor mount?

That would have been my guess but the heads don't look right. Are they stock stage III heads?

You were smart to use a pic with the distributor removed. That angle mounted distributor is a give away. Also, the intake manifold is quite recognizable.
Anyway, who would want to run a Chevy when they could have a Ford or Chrysler and really get somewhere?
