The 10th and final Nimmits class Carrier, the USS George Bush had its keel laying ceremony today.
Named after George Sr, our former Prez.
When I was in the Marines, I cruised on a few US ships.
The British had the best named warships like: Pandora, Superb, Challenger, Jaguar ect.
American ships had names like: Smedly D. Butler, the Rupert P. Hinkley, the Cosmo H. Mongomery.
Some US ships were named after famous battles though: The Corral Sea, Shangri La, Okinawa, Iwo Jima.
The US ships seemed cleaner and much better to serve on, and much better food than what the Brits had.
