So my folks are in town this past weekend and we're all sitting around fairly late, having some beers & cocktails, watchin the tube. Not a damn thing on so we stumble across a South Park marathon on Comedy Central. Haven't watched this show since I was in college and it apparently has changed quite a bit.
Next thing I know, the kids are saying fock this and fock that and you're a muther focker and shut up Cartman you d-sucker and stupid d-head and suck my and put a D in your ass, etc...etc...etc...
Of course we were all laughing our asses off, but at the same time wondering........when did this get OK'd by the FCC? There was zero censorship and I was totally shocked.
Did I miss something??????? Friggin show is funny as hell and had my 60+ yr old parents in absolute stitches. I think I'm hooked on it again.

They used to run a tight ship when Havasu Hangin was the censor at Comedy Central. Apparently he moved along to a more challenging assignment.

I guess that's true. I had to rewind the Tivo a few times to make sure I wasn't losin' it. Crazy that it's allowed on the air these days.........

I never used to watch the show, but I've been recording them for about 6 months. I think I'm completely caught up, since I delete nearly every on that is on the DVR.
The one where Cartman pretends to be retarded was just on a couple of nights ago. I about crapped my pants.
A new season is starting soon.

I heard they got sued for that episode, as it was a ripoff of the Johnny Knoxville movie with the same plot.
I bet the SouthPark episode turned out much better....
That and the CrippleFight are my favorites.

Most of their episodes are takeoffs..
the Cripple fight is a take off of the fight in "They Live" probably one of the best street fights in a B movie.

Quote:
They Live contains a famous alleyway brawl between Roddy Piper and Keith David that lasts over six minutes onscreen and features wrestling suplexes. Originally, the fight was supposed to last only 20 seconds, but the actors reportedly wanted to duke it out. John Carpenter was so impressed that he kept the full cut seen in the movie, perhaps partly as an homage to John Wayne's famous fight in The Quiet Man. In 2001, the creators of South Park parodied/paid homage to the scene in the episode "Cripple Fight," which contains an alley brawl between two handicapped children that copies much of the dialogue and fight choreography of the scene in They Live, right down to Jimmy screaming "You dirty mother-f*****!"
