I have 496 HO on my 25ft Rage! Waiting for the warranty to expire! Then I am taking my boat down to GT Marine in Montclair. They are going to Recalibrate the Computer, Flame Arrestor, and put in CMI Headers!!

For a little extra why not put a whipple on it,
and they will recalibrate the ECM also.

Don't get me wrong I like the Supercharger applications but I don't feel like spending more money down the road like upgrading the drive, pistons ect..ect....With the package that I posted on the boards, the motor should crank out 490 HP and very reliable!!!

My dad has the 496HO in his 21ft Step Skier. He just had the computer recalibrated from GT Marine and put the K&N filter in. It made a big difference and now revs to 5450. This little boat now does low 80's on a gps speedo. Do yourself a favor and get it done and you won't regret it.

How much did that run him? I recently upgraded my drive from the Bravo one X to the XR. I'm eventually gonna put a Procharger on it but recaliberation if in the plans too.

Well in perfect conditions (I.E. one person, little chop and low fuel) the best I got it was 76 on a GPS speedo running a 26 pitch four blade prop. Now with the chip I have seen 82 runnning the same prop but it's lab tuned now. I know it seems a little high but this boat is only a 3400 lbs step bottom that revs the full 5450 RPM. She came alive with the chip so I would say with the chip expect about 3 to 4 MPH play with the prop if you can and if you have the money get the CMI headers they look so bitchen.
