Well. Nodigg and I are back. What a friggin trip that was. We had an RV spot in the GlenCoe campground however, when we got to my friends house in N CA (Prunedale) he was working on the RV. He only had 8 months to get the damn thing running. Anyhow, Nodigg put some water in the radiator while my buddy went to the store and water was coming out of the engine. That decided that. We loaded up my truck and decided we would tent it at the campground. We took turns daily driving the truck while the others rode the bikes. It was a great trip and the land out there in Wy, SD and the rest of the states we went thru is very beautiful. If you haven't traveled this country you need to take a road trip. Most of my pics during this trip were of mountains, roads, lakes and rivers. When we came back we left a day early to come back thru Yellowstone. I had never been there before and I must say that the landscape is unbelieveable. There were quite a lot of Buffalo stopping traffic and so forth. They were really close to the bike and if they had wanted to they could have really f&*%#$ me up. Oh well....The lakes, streams and rivers are so clear you can't believe it.
As far as being at Glencoe campground. As I said we had an RV spot where we put our tents out. It was kind of funny to see our tents in between the $250K and up RV's. **** em....ANyhow, by being in the RV spot it kept us about a 5 minute walk from what I will call the strip in the campground. This is where all the craziness took place. Naked people all over the place having sex and running wild. Bikes burning out and so forth. It was a dirt road and I was concerned that one of the drunken people doing burnouts would go into the crowd. As far as I know it never happened. There was one woman out there with a sign that said "I EAT PUSSY". If any woman and I mean any woman would stop and allow her she would eat it right in front of everybody. I saw her do this at least (10) times one night. She was out there every night doing the same. The sanbar or any place else is tame compared to the campground. People were riding by on their bikes naked having sex--right on the bike while they were driving. Snoop Doggs Girls Gone Wild crew was there taping.
The full throttle saloon was great. You can drive your bike right into the bar. It is actually more like an arena. Bands playing, stores selling all sorts of stuff, bars, bull riding, burn out contests, dancers, strippers....goes on and on.
The Orange County Chopper guys were there signing autographs and selling merchandise. Got a couple of good pics of them and some of there bikes including the spider bike.
We took rides thru the Badlands, the monuments and so forth. We had almost perfect weather. I got rained on just a little bit right outside of Reno.
I can't wait to do it again next year although I will be staying in a hotel in Deadwood. I plan on taking Santa Jeanne and will keep her away from those damn campgrounds. Just a little too crazy.
One last note....I did not see one fight. You have to understand and see the enormous amount of bikers to really appreciate this. They were everywhere but I think the difference is that noone was out looking for trouble. We were all there for the same reason and that was to enjoy the freedom of being on your bike and enjoying each others company. Nothing like 600K bikes taking over a town of 7K. Actually, the bikes take over all of WY, SD and ND. Amazing to see. The local paper said this was the biggest Sturgis event yet.
I would post some pics but don't know how.

Hey, Tom, welcome back. Sounds like a wild trip.
I was at Powell for a week, and thought I saw your boat, but I could never catch it (not surprising) to see if it was you...but then Terry said you weren't there, you were on your way to Sturgis.
Here's a few pics if I didn't send you some already.

I'm in Phoenix for the week...your brother was here a few days ago getting things ready at the new school.
It's 109 today I think...way to hot to work...wish I was on my boat at the sandbar in that cool water.
Do you know anyplace fun to go in Phoenix at night? I have no idea.

Mike It was more wild than anybody can ever imagine Mike. Terry said he was going back to PHX again later this week and wanted to know if I would be in BHC. I am not but you and Terry can use the place if you want. NOT THE BOATS though...lol Jordy can probably give you some feedback on where to go on PHX. I don't know much about the area. I have to go look at those pics now. Have a good time getting the school up and running Mike. Later

Mike--I like how the lettering came out on the boat. Looks nice. I have to make it up there to Powell some day. I keep meaning to schedule a trip but never get around to it. It looks like you hit a nice time to go as the water looks flat and calm.

Sounds like a good time to be had by all! I was up in Sturgis the weekend before the rally and there were already a lot of bikes there. Got into the campground past midnight and was wakened by the sound of bikes early the next morning. We had our 14 year old daughter and her friend with us. Good thing we were not there for the rally since we had young and impressionables with us. Still rode into Sturgis on the bike and tooled around a bit before cruising the Black Hills.
Hopefully soon me and the little lady can make it up to the rally when it is rocking. But on a good note she did buy a set of chaps that made my d**k hurt just looking at them while we were in Sturgis!
I also went through Yellowstone for a day on our vacation. Put 170 mile on the bike that day. I will say that is the way to see Yellowstone. Had a couple of close encounters with Buffalo myself. Was almost right next ot one on one of the roads. Sat idling right next to him. Keep my hand on the clutch ready to launch if needed! Could tell the exhaust was starting to make him nervous so I cruised. Didn't want to push my luck!
If you ever get a chance go up to Glacier National pack. There is a road called Going to the Sun Highway. If there was ever a road I would call Gods Road that would be it.
Wound up putting 700 miles on the bike and 4000 on the RV in 11 days. By far the best were on times on the bike. Just wish I had the boat with me! There are some beautiful lakes in that area of the country. Flathead Lake was unbelievable.
The bad part about being one week early for the rally is that I am going to build a custom bike in the fall and the big vendors were not there yet. I want to feel and touch and carefully look over the parts that I will buy for the bike. Cant always tell for sure looking at the catalogs!
Sorry for the long post but it was just so awesome riding the bike up in that area of the country! Glad you had a good time and came back with the bike and yourself in one piece. BTW pics please!!!!!!

Ya going next year? Going next year, got plenty of shirts, never talked to the owner. They did have the best shirts around. I bought many of them. One after Nodigg started talking shit about my Laughlin River Days shirt I had when I went in there one night. I went and bought another one and put it on. I can't believe I listened to that shit after I found out he was wearing a Walmart shirt...lol

Thanks for posting the pics JBR. I really appreciate it. If we ever meet on the river the beer is on me. If you hate BL's you might be in a bind though....lol

http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/78105_0523-med.JPG In this pic my buddy Dale and me have some fun with General Custer. You can see my beard which I cut off after a few days. I did not want to be gray like Nodigg was...lol
There was some pretty funny stuff that happened around Dale while we were out there. Small town midwest people seeing a black HD rider and so forth. Never had a problem but lots of stares and curious looks. I have known Dale for 25 years and we go wherever we want. Anybody with a problem with that can kiss our asses.

I had taken another nap on the side of the road and Nodigg and Dale went ahead to Jackson Hole which was our next stop. I had to stop and take pics of this. It was even better in person.
The pics of me were in Yellowstone. These were taken for Santa Jeanne :)

http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/78106_0608-med.JPG Yes, that is Nodigg riding along all happy and shit. On that day I had to drive the truck and none of us were happy about that except for the day Nodigg and Dale came up on Salt Lake City. They were almost blown off of their bikes.
A fire that just broke out in Yellowstone. I think they got it under control pretty quickly. It must have been started by a camper as the skies were very clear at the time. No lighting so it had to have been man made.
Anytime we passed a lake or stream I wanted to stop and get pics. The water is so clear it is unbelievable. The boat in the pic had that entire lake to himself. How selfish is that?...lol

The guys from OCC TV show on Discovery. At one point my buddy Dale (I think it was him) said he wanted some of the attitude displayed from SR like on the show. SR looked up and said **** YOU! Then he smiled. Seemed like good guys. They owe a lot to the Discovery channel as it is making them rich. They had a very long line to get autographs and to buy merchandise.
The next pic is of the Badlands where all the outlaws used to go into to hide. Jesse James and so forth. It was very hot that day.
The pic of me is in the Badlands and I was looking over a very high cliff. Kind of made my head spin...lol
That lake (resevior) is right outside of Jackson Hole and goes around the corner and opens up. It gets very windy there.

I'm definitely going to have to take a Sturgis trip in the next few years. If it continuews to grow the way it has been I'm sure it will either outgrow itself or the authorities will find some reason to shut it down or rather the ECO-Nazis. Seems like anytime something becomes a Modern American tradition something comes along to **** it up.

Plus there are really minimial problems as the crowd is a little older than other gatherings. Very affulent crowd actually. I worry about the girls gone wild crew being there though. It would be a shame to ruin it as LHC as been ruined. Just my opinion as always.

Unleashedclothing (http://www.unleashedclothing.com) devil Nodigg, Dale and I had a truck that we took turns driving. There were always 2 of us riding at all times. It was 90-100 at Sturgis with threatening clouds but very little rain. I guess you could say we got lucky. Go by yourself and the guys the first year you go, stay at GlenCoe and then the following year bring your female friend after you know what is going on. The gf would appreciate it better that way.

Well looks like I missed the discussion but I'll bump it back to the top. What a great trip! Tom, we have got to find some board members to meet up with next year at the full throttle saloon. It was nice to see you finally became a tour kind of guy (SLOWER) after all those 90mph days geting over to Sturgis. I guess I am a real Harley fan now that it did not break even once! Next year we have got to do at least one 800 mile day! Did somebody say DAYTONA?!
