BIGTYME's list is the best of the best as far as buggies are concerned. Most if not all buggies on that list will set you back 60K plus. Check out the board at glamisdunes.com, wealth of information and some great people. :D
You should try and make it to the Sand Show at the OC fairgrounds this weekend. All the major buggy builders will be there.

Out of all those, I think I'd go talk to Larry over at Suspensions Unlimited over all of them. Not naming any specific builders but ego seems to be a big problem in the sandrail building business and Larry doesn't have that problem. Just my $.02

I've been to buckshot and they did some work for me on my car. The place is awesome and they make some unbelievable cars. Has anyone see the buckshot cars Jump?

I was at Buckshot last week for the ASA meeting. You should see the car he is building for himself for the upcoming season. 5 seater with blown LS6 and ABG tranny. Think of the X-5 but on steroids. eek!

I'm going to the Sand Sports Super Show this weekend. There will be many manufacturers there, including some of the ones listed. My suggestion is to go also and check out all their merchandise in one place. I'll be there Friday night from about 6-10pm. Here is a link with all the info including links to the vendors that will be attending.

http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/658rail-med.jpg Wow, it seem like even buggies get splashed, the one above looks awfully close to the one my buddy Kurt at Race Designs built a couple years ago. Its more of a truggy but works pretty well in the sand given its girth. wink Im trying to find the picture of it with the paddles and razors but here a picture of it with the dirt tires.

Anyone familiar with Predator sandrails? I am thinking about getting their roller chasis and building it myself. Probably an LS1 with Mendeola. What do you think about the rail? Package? Any tips?

IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO SPEND.
amplified perf does great work for a great price.
if you want more wheel travel, more HP it would hard to turn away from buckshot, they seem to be the hottest ticket in the sand.
prerun cars, look at Tatum in Pheonix, Jimco etc.

I almost bought one 2 years ago..Then they went out of buisness temp and I guess started up under a new name?My 2 cents I would stay away from the LS1 and get a turbo subaru.I have 2 buddies ,one has a northstar and the other has Ls1..Both have told me if they were to do it again they would go subaru. With the V8s U have to really beef up the frames and the trannies seem to break more often.THe cars are heavier also. The northstar is a twin turbo..Makes about 700hp and he went through 2 mendeolas in one season and finally bought a fortin..
