Kazaa KAZAA is definately the place. way better than napster was. It may sound like bullshit, but as long as you change your settings to "NOT SHARE" with anyone else, you have pretty good odds of not getting any viruses. at least it has worked for me. Im virus free for about 3yrs of Kazaa, home and work. if you have fast connection you can even d/l videos and movies (before they are even at the theatre, more less out on dvd) quality isnt always the greatest on movies.

forgot to tell you, there is a new commision out, i cant remember the name, kinda like the fcc, that monitors the "illegal sharing of files" they are supposedly sending out notices that it is illegal, but i have yet to get anything. another good reason to turn your sharing off.

I would say that WinMX is the easiest to use for a "newbie."
Although, this conduct is illegal and cannot be recommended... :( :(
GO to download.com and search for "WinMX"
(Send me a PM if you need help.....etc)
