I fail to see the humor...but thats just me.Hey, it's a free country, eh?
I made myself laugh, but hey, that's just me. Just making light of a bad situation. I have had bad luck too (one of my boats burned to the water line...no insurance). I'm not running a popularity contest anyway, but I knew it would get a rise out of some of you...LOL! cry
BTW, To me it did not sound any worse than this..."Somebody pull his plug or what"

And the benefit of an outboard is WHAT?

Tom Brown

It looks like the occupants are OK. That's all that really matters. :)
I'd like to hear an account of what actually happened too.
I'm with FC. Not long from now, they'll be laughing about this event... unless, of course, someone got hurt.
Hey JBB, sure they were 'manning' the video camera instead of helping but what about the guy manning the still camera? You know, the guy who took the picture we're all looking at.

And the benefit of an outboard is WHAT? Choking all the carboat drivers.......because they will all be behind me!.....OK, OK, don't get all upset, now. I was just kiddin'.
Killing mosquitoes? You tell me. idea
That looks like a low profile boat to me. If you have water over the transom, whether OB, jet, V drive, or I/O, it is going under no matter what. And it does not take long either. Believe me, I know from experience.
If you don't believe me look at the pic of mine...a jet ski could sink it...LOL!

BN, what kinda air bags are you using? Thought about a tractor or semi inner tube(s). Looks like that idea would work well on mine.
Mike37, glad no one was hurt. Dumb shit happens sometimes. BTW Nice boat!
Here is another pic of mine. I am very picky on where I go and where I stop. Hell, I cannot even sit anywhere w/o worrying about that happening. Especially with all those damn wake-board boats they have around here now.

Seen a boat do the same thing just down from Cranes at Lake Elsinore today. Didn't look like anyone was hurt. Someone hooked up to him before it sank and towed it around for a while to drain the water.

That is a bad day on the water, looks like they made it to the canyon. Hard to believe none of the friends noticed water inside the boat.

That sucks. We got a strong current in the river here in Sac.
I saw a guys boat sink like that because his ski rope caught on something on the bottom of the river and pulled the back of his boat under.
No one in the boat had a knife to cut the rope so the current sucked his boat right under.

FC - I gotta beat the wave too. Mine's probably gonna sit like your when I add another 60 pounds in back to it. A 3 inch lip around the back would help.
http://www.the-matrix.com/sorrydog/image029.jpg
I still have a little floatation left in the back.
I bet that guy broke a gimball or something. How come most novice boaters have a small block I/O? Wouldn't an O/B be better so that they don't have to sell the boat when they want something better??
