How about some input...It won't get used to often. I'd sure like to stay under $150.00....Thanks.

Can't go wrong with a Hewlett Packard or
Epson at that price range.

HDD I could sure use some Model #'s...would 150.00 be to much to spend for a decent home unit?

Mandelon is right, and i'm not bias because HP pays my bills...they are the best, and if your not in a hurry, i can hook you up with a top of the line printer when i go back to work in march in your price range... :D

HP DeskJet 5550 or any HP for around that price, technology is so advanced that these printers print photo quality for under $200.00 now.

I've got a HP Deskjet 1220C which works bitchin. Only thing is the ink cost kills ya. I'd try to find one that has the color cartridges seperate instead of the 3 color combined dealio like mine has. That way you replace only the color you run out of. I've heard there are some now that are good that have this feature but I haven't researched it. I think these dudes give the printers away and make all the $ on the replacement ink cartridges. :)

The HP 5550 is $149 at staples and there are always Staples coupons floating around out there.

The HP5550 is an excellent color photo printer but if you intend to print more than 30 color pages a month you should look at the epson line because they use seperate color refills and tend to be more cost effective in the long term :)

Any of those HP's under $200 are pretty good. I recently bought one for around $140. It prints well, quick, and it's quiet. The ink refills is where they get ya. Consider an aftermarket refill kit.

Epson C80. Awesome color photo prints, separate ink colors, about $150 at Best Buy.

Oh yeah. The ink refills are available at Costco for about half of the computer stores.

I have an Epson C80 and like it. I think the new C82 is $150.00 and has higher resolution. The individual ink tanks are a plus.

I use both and they each have advantages. For light usage, ink-jets are a good buy, but they are going to cost more per copy. However, 1-2 cent per copy will go a long way at a $4-500 price difference. The Epsons are good quality printers. I am using one now. The thing I like about the HP is the front loading tray feed. I have seen paper warp on some of the rear rack feeds. If all else is equal, I prefer a front tray.
