Just did some testing on the new Nissan Titan that is coming out this fall. WOW!!!! I have never been a "rice" guy, but oh my God, is that drivetrain awesome! We did tests towing a Tundra on a U-Haul trailer behind the Titan and the new Hemi. The Titan jumped off the line in front of the Hemi and was a full length (including trailer) in front by the 1/8 mile marker. It is a full size truck with a solid interior. We then took it to the dyno and thoroughly trounced all the competitors in HP and torque. Once again, if you're looking for one awesome truck, take a look. I hate the fact that I liked this so much, especially since I just upgraded my jawdrop Suburban.

This past weekend I was in a new Nissan Suburban size SUV. The vehicle was pretty nice but did not have a MSRP sticker on it.

Believe it when I see it. Every Nissan P/U I have ever driven or ridden in has been a gutless POS. The Tundra was supposed to be all that and is a good truck, but still not a true American full-size with regard to interior room, power, and tow capacity.
Another thing to look at is apples to apples. Most of the time they rig these "tests" by putting the lowest gears in their truck and putting tall gears in the competitors to make them look bad. Gearing makes a big difference while towing.

OL I hear what you are saying, and couldn't agree more with everything you said. They had identical gears, fuel levels, both 4x4, and loads. Trust me, it's difficult for me to give credit to a japanese truck also. They are absolutely nothing like the tundra. Sorry to say, but they smoked the GMC Sierra, 2004 F150, and the Tundra. The only thing that came close was the Hemi. Just some thoughts, by no means am I a rice guy!

A rice guy. I think that rig is being made in Tennessee and I think a lot of my truck, a Ford was made in Mexico or Canada or some place else. I guess if you want to support US families we should like more rice. :D

Wait till you get to ride in one or drive it. The 4x4 will smoke the tires just by stomping on it.

Sounds like a nice rig...can't wait to see what it looks like...I had a Tundra before, and it was not that great at pulling the 23 Eliminator...it could do it, but the Supercrew feels much better...

Unless it comes with a diesel I would not buy one for towing. I will never go back to gas. Just my.02

My opinion is it looks like crap....not even as good looking as the Tundra..
Agree with Cig, if I do buy another truck...it won't be gas....my Supercrew tows pretty good with 4.56's but it ain't great on gas, and it only so much torque as well.

OL Just like Boat Manufacturers :D
I agree with you though on all the nissans I have owned (2) They weren't overly powerful and when you shut the door it sounded like a piece of tin with the rubber muffling the sound a little. They were both 90's P/U's so they weren't too old when I had them.

I can't wait for the Titan to come out, I will be the first to buy one.
So NewGuy, how did you get a gig where you test these trucks?
Currently driving an 02 Silverado, biggest POS I have ever owned. Dig the truck in every way, just the mechanicals are crap. Tranny keeps slipping, front susp. falling off, etc.

A buddy of mine works for a company that does the "launches" of the new cars/trucks for Nissan, Volkswagen, and BMW. I get to help out when needed. It's a great gig. I'm sure there are some details to work out on the Titan, first year and all, but an awesome drivetrain!!
