If you haven't done it yet or found the info you need, i just did that exact thing today in my boat. Very simple. I have a sony HU as well. As stated earlier you need to get a sony xa-c30 OR xA-c40 (both the same). Then get a Connects2 Ipod to sony interface module. The xa-c30 allows 3 unilnks connections and has 3 pair of rca ins and 1 unilink out and 1 pr rca out.. The xa-c30 needs to be spliced into the power and ground of your stereo. I have control of my ipod thru the HU. The connects2 powers and charges the ipod. Very simple installation. There are several different Ipod interface module you can use(Connects2, PAC, Sony). The xa-c30 or 40 maybe hard to find. The c30 is discontinued but still out there, the c40 is the new model. I used a c30 with no probs. When the Ipod is connected i hit source on the HU until CD is selected , then i press mode to get to CD2 and thats where the ipod plays. If you change your source to xm or cd the IPOD will pause and restart at that point when selected again on the HU. It's pretty f'ng sweet...
