What's it gonna cost me?
We'll need 4x4, leather and all the usual goodies. I see $32,000 to $45,000 in the papers....$10,000 off MSRP seems common.

Depends on what you get under the hood. They are a little more flexible on the more standard models. The big block models they are less so...

I don't know if you have already tried this...build your own Suburban.

The Excursion is an awesome truck...so is the Burb. Especially with the big block. You can pull just about anything with that truck!

Good luck Mandelon,
I bought my wife a new Yukon XL a couple years back and still have 4 more to go...gulp. The sticker on ours was 48K and we got it for 40K...before 9/11 there was no low interest deals and we leased it to afford the payments. We just refinanced it to a purchase at 4.4% APR...still owe 33K with $600 a month payments.
Is it all worth it???
Sure we got the Leather, 4X4, 20 inch Goodyear Eagles on MKWs, SLT Autoride. Everything except the Denali grill.
My wife loves it, so I suppose it is. :)

Mandelon,
If you are really interested in getting one, give me a shout. I have a buddy that is an auto broker who can take care of you. He helped me with my 2004 crewcab duramax, unreal deal.
If you wait about a year or so, they are going to offer the Suburban with the Duramax.

I bought a 2003 from Mossy Chevrolet in late Feb. of this year. 3/4 ton, (12,400# tow capacity), LT, (leather,Bose 6 disk cd) 8.1, 4:10 gears, sunroof, everything except for the DVD. with incentives $42k and change. I couldn't be happier it rides like a caddy, pulls the boat like a diesel, and hauls ass like a sports car. Buy one you and wifey will like it. Pass on the Excursion, (FORD's better idea.........WALK)

I hear they are really nice now. I won't take her to the dealer for a test drive, then she will really get wacky.
We have '95 now, but with the 5.7, so it pulls a bit slow up the hills when towing.
I think we paid $34,000 back then.....

Mandelon....
The reason I bought the 2500 with the the 8.1 was due to my old 5.7 lugging when pulling to Meade and the river. The new one is Sweet.... set cruise control on 70, turn on AC, crank up the Bose, and settle in for a relaxing trip.

I buy all my GM stuff from Gene Berg In Van Nuys Ca.
My familys been buying there for 40 years. Same sales people, same on site owner.
They've proved to me the "Invoice" is just a BS piece of paper.
If you're willing to order, the price there can't be beat.
He carries no dealer stock except Cement trucks and Semis,, but they'll order you what you want and all rebates, incentives are in effect, and the price is way, way lower than anyone else.
Ask for Elliot, ask to see my sales contact for my 2500HD 4x4 crewcab. I saved 6 grand under other dealers "Invoice price".
Ordering new from the factory is a kick. Ya really get it the way ya want. The wife will really love ya when she can order it the way she really wants it.
I'm single and let my daughter order the stuff and colors and interior she wants.

Mandelon,
I recently bought an 03 Suburan with the Z71 pkg. Loaded with everything, leather, sunroof, bose 6 disk, onstar you name it. Sticker on it was 46 and change. It has the 5.3 and tows our 22' Cole like a dream.
You can't go wrong with the Sub.
