What do you think about it?? is it a good hot boat??

It is a very nice boat with classic lines. I talked to a guy in Havasu that is running about 600 hp in one, and uses it to pull a skier to Catalina Island.
He said it handles rough water well for it's size.

I know someone who has the 22 ZX with BBC. He supercharged it and it does an honest 75 with only 5 pound boost. It's a really good rough water hull but needs serious power to push it over 80.

I'm sorry, but what is BBC??
What speed can reach for you with a 377??
I'm informing because thy told me to make a very hard discount if I buy directly there...;)
Maybe Linetti is more fast for less money, but Donzi seems better with rough water!!:)

http://www3.telus.net/spectrasonly/donzi22.classic.jpg Fede , I saw this 22 classic this summer in seattle with a 502 carburated engine. It does 80 mph without S/C . It's quite bit smaller than the ZX but a true hotrod, none the less . Still handles rough water great with much less freeboard .Just sold for 24 K and had a lot of add ons like external steering K-tabs etc....New ones cost 54 K , so this was a really good buy.Why don't you try to find some used boats like a 27 Magnum with tw SBC's [ they have those in Italy ] that would be perfect in the sea . If I remember well, Magnuman on this board had one for sale once for a very reasonable price.http://www3.telus.net/spectrasonly/donzi2.jpghttp://www3.telus.net/spectrasonly/donzi3.jpg

Very nice engine!! ;)
I prefere to buy my first boat new, because it's a long time I wish it,and so it's a kind of feeling with a new babe!!:D :p
I've already seen the 22 classic, but apart from design I don't like too much, the big problem is that i need 2 sleeping places inside, because I will often ride boat for week-end use...

Mercruiser buys their engines from Chevrolet and marinizes them with their own systems, fuel injection, electrics, computer, exhaust manifolds, drive couplers, controls and so on. Final operation in production is a coat of black paint or for the performance engines metallic blue paint.

Magnuman , wished I could have looked at your boat while I was in SF this summer;) . How's that donzi of yours coming along?

Magnuman

Integra,
The boat is a 27' Magnum Sport
Engines are 350's/Vortec Heads 400hp
I have had the boat up to 72mph on GPS, which is pretty fast for this battle wagon.
Spectras,
The Donzi has had all stringers beefed up,and transom redone to fit new Bravo that I purchased. The hull gel coat work is done and the deck is going back on this week. Deck and interior I am going to have painted.
Engine just went to the paint shop to have the candy apple red applied.
I also need to have this polished.
http://www.donzi.net/photos/ENahemow709.jpg
Next step is to design a new full dash bezel for my gauges and some vents, then hopefully have SuperDave machine it for me.
After that rig it, order CMI headers, and get it ready for the spring.
The list is getting shorter.

Magnuman, I had my TR-2 intake powdercoated red instead of polishing it for my LS-6 ,and it stands up real well.I'll replace the polished valvecovers with black wrinkle finished tall covers to accomodate the compcam S/S roller rockers am getting this winter. Also thought of redoing the dash with carbon fibre finish in the future.Still got the original S/W gauges, freshened up with red bezels. My boat is a pretty old design but can't give it up to some mediocre layup tupperware [ we have a lot of logs and debris in the rivers here ,and don't want to take a chance them going through my hull, hehe]. Post some pictures of the Donzi project for the old timers

Interesting bottom on the Italian job -
http://cantierelinetti.it/images/205sxvelg.jpg
Doesn't look all that shabby to me. None of the boats this size are going to be great for overnighting. Which is one of the reasons bowriders are much more popular in this size over here in the US. Are there any other US brands besides Donzi that are available to you in Italy?

here in Italy There is no USA small boats that are available by a dealer directly, So I'd have to buy them directly in US, by mail...:( ;)
I'm interested in Donzi, because they would make me an hard discount since there are no delaers involved...
I'm thinking about 22 ZX because it seems better for rough waters, than Linetti, since I'll use it only in the sea...:)

I expect many US builders would sell direct for an overseas deal. Most US boats in this size are really lake boats, not so much for the ocean. Another popular brand here is Baja (http://www.bajamarine.com/index.asp?display=brochure&modelid=35026&tab=0&) . Though they may not be as well known in Europe as Donzi. Currency exchange can be a funny thing. You might be able to get a smoking deal on a Canadian built Campion Chase (http://www.campionboats.com/chase/650i.htm) .
Since the regulations for boats in Europe are different than here in the US, buying US boat for Europe may not be all that simple. Here is another thread about getting a US boat to Europe - The Hull Truth Boating Forum (http://thehulltruth.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=382602711&f=848609331&m=5056015573) .
I really would not be so quick to give up on the European boats.

I like Chase, but it has too little sun pad, and I'd prefere something more "racing" looking...;)
You're very right, buying an US boat for Europe is a bit difficult, I was only thinking about Donzi because of the great price reduction...:)
Baja is known more than Donzi, and they have a sort of dealer here, but thy know nothing, they have no boats to see, and I should pay for them, so...:o
Outlaw series 25 is very nice, but a little expensive...
Usa 22 feet are lake boat????
are they not good for sea,in your opinion?? I'm searching for a 70 mph boat and your boat are faster than ours...;)

We have tons of racy looking boats. But the more racy the more likely they will be low profile. Not so good for big water. At least the Chase line has a fairly deep hull.

There are guys running the smaller boats in mild seas. But the more serious ocean runners seem to be near the 30 foot mark (and bigger of course). Does depend on the nature of the swell. Dunno exactly what the minimum length would need to be to run 70 in swells. Would make an interesting topic in itself.

Thanx Kelly!!
I won't use my boat at 70 mph on rough sea, obviously, but I'm searching for boat tha allows me to ride as well with some waves...
Maybe at the end I'll choose the Linetti, beacause of the facilties of buying a boat some miles near home...
I can't too spend 2 months or more, only to import an USA boat and to make its documentation...

We have a 2002 Donzi and love it!! They are a well built boat, that handles rough water great. They actually run better in about 1-2 ft of chop. They also can double as a water ambulance. :) Had a little mishap at the last OP6C party.

Both the Performance (http://www.performance-marine.de/performance/hs_eng/frameset/index.htm) and Tullio Abbate (http://www.tullioabbate.it/barche/mito22/e_mito22.htm) look like fast rigs to me. Given the same power, don't know why a Donzi should be any faster. Are these really higher priced than an imported Donzi? Has the value of the US dollar dropped than much in Italy?

Performance "entry level" is 607 and it's not so fast and so cheap...
Tullio Abbate unfortunately has not as the same good quality as some years ago...
Linetti is a very good boat, but I think Donzi should be a little better for rough waters... (same top speed about)
Price: linetti with 6.2 MPI and sport exhaust cost 4k dollars more than Donzi 22 ZX with 377 Scorpion!!
same options except from electric Winch( very usefull for me) that for Donzi is not available...:)

USA cars too are less expensive than European!;)
