Ok, so I must be a phukin idiot.
I tried to search the archives here, and couldn't get anything to come up.
I'm looking at buying a Dodge Ram Diesel the years of 2000-2002. Can anyone here answer these questions.
1: What was the first year the HO version diesel became available?
2: What year did the 48RE tranny become an option?
3: Can you get the HO version motor with either of the auto trannies in these years? I heard that the only option is with the manual six speed.
4: How much increased HP can I expect with an after market exhaust. What exhaust is best suited for the rig?
5: What chip options are available, and how much improvement will I see if I chose to go that route?
Any info. will be greatly appreciated.

this thread will answer all your questions
STV_Keith will be your guy..
"You're on the right track. The ISBe Cummins in that Dodge can't be beat. The track record is great. Power? The HO makes 280hp to the rear wheels, and almost 500ft-lbs through the auto or 6-speed. "
it goes on to explain pros and cons and which mods work for your truck

To answer your questions:
1. 2001 model year.
2. 2003 model year for the HO, 2003.5 for the SO and CA models.
3. The HO is offered with the DEE 6-speed or the 48RE auto only. The 47RE was not offered with the HO, and is no longer offered at all.
4. 0 hp. An exhaust system will help drop your exhaust gas temps, but will not give a HP increase on a Cummins.
5. We sell our "True Torque Power Module" here at work. 65hp/150ft-lbs gain to the wheels over stock. A simple, 1 minute plug in unit. Sells for $465. Check out our webpage for more info: Diesel Dynamics (http://www.dieseldynamics.com)

A couple more questions
What was the first year the 4 wheel discs became available.
I haven't been able to find any after market locking hubs for this rig. Are there any available?
