It's a good thing ,because there are still a lot of folks out there who needs some info on their old barges . :D . I scan through them occasionally and try to post some interesting ones. I'll be posting some tonight that would interest the squirters for sure.

Yeah, I agree with rexone about the mags. I know bahanerjet has a bunch of them too..............wish I had kept all my dads old ones from the 60s and 70s. Buying them back one at a time at the swap meets suck.
A Rogers, what else?
Wow, that thing ran a 121+ , unblown, 30 years ago! Make a killer river runner today, kinda put the v-drives on the trailer real quick.
Cool stuff SpectrasOnly, post some more.

Especially if it's racing 'like- engined' flats. You know, both with injected BBCs or whatever the case. Flattie's gonna get spanked. Nothing quicker, maybe faster, but not quicker than an injected jet.
What do you think?

You didn't say MOST. I agree with the most statment I guess.
But I think guru's carbed 505" canyon deal would eat that boat and MOST other jets in a 1/8 mile river sprint.
what do you think? :)
BTW, you don't see many jets running Nitro out at the river.

I think you're probably right, although I have no idea who guru is and have never seen his canyon. Where's he run on the river?
Don't see many jets tipin' the can on the river? (don't see to many running zoomies either) Shit, you don't see many jets crackin 80 on the river. Most are waaaay faster behind their tow rig than they are on the water. I was just pointing out how much fun it'd be having that old jet, with it's 30 year old technology-nitro or no nitro- on the river today. Even without the nitro, that thing would be the SECOND fasterst boat on the river, right behind gurus 21 century, 505 inch carbed Canyon.

Those were the days it will never be the same , Dan Durham also ran his BFJ out of Pfaff and Sowins shop in Harbor city ca .the Barrons ran a circle boat at the same time as the 1/4 mile boat . The motors for Liberty were also produced at the same Harbor city facility when the late Gordon Jennings was the driver . I refer to gurus boat as Joe Schenks boat built by Jeff Blosdale it was built for NJBA comp flat and always ran great most flats that Jeff worked on hauled ass . I would be most certain that a state of the art progas jet would hang with the Schenks / Guru boat for a 1/8 mile . Jeff also lived in Torrance when that boat was built . :p

Yeah, I just saw the latest Hot Boat with the great article on Durham at my barbers shop this morning. He's a wonderful guy, came around alot at Rogers back in the day when I worked there, 79-85, pretty much after the glory days. I think Rogers old place at the river is in the same complex that Dans in still in.

I had a Bahnner SST that Harold did the pump on and Lange did the installation one night after the NJBA races Don Forester asked if he could make a couple hot laps in it . I had never seen it run and while i was watching i noticed Dan Durham was watching , when we pulled the boat out you could see the gleam in his eye it was awsome a true jet boat pioneer ! One thing about Dan you could eat off P S NO EXCUSES a chrome platers dream yes Dan is a true gentelman

There was a guy named Bill Olson on Parker strip forever, that was a pretty good friend of my dad. They had some serious boats, the majority of the boats were named "Cream Puff" His father (Bills father) incidentally built what I believe was a Rayson Craft with an Allison Aircraft engine. I never had time to confirm it, but I think it's the same one that shows up @ the V-Drive events (red and white).
RD We have an Olsen’s Bakery up here I wonder if that is the same family?

bahnerjet,
That Avenger is beautiful. And to show you how bad my memory is, I remember you posting this pic a while back with the details, and I already forgot what boat that is. The Menace? I can't remember.
Heck, depending on what year the pic was snapped, Long Beach might have still had some of the Pike left there. The Pike was an old amusment park in Long Beach for you young 'uns.

Oh, 'P S No Excuses', that was Durhams boat. The one he raced after his old Rogers.
thanks, I needed that extra clue. Colors don't mean squat to me. I'm color blind, and can see black, white, blue, gray, gold and a few others. Go figure, the last boat I had was white and red, couldn't see it. The flatie is white and orange, can't see it. Have an all red surburban, if it wasn't lowered, I'd never find it.
