Need to clairify that this is not my boat. It belongs to "Well Done" I just built the engine and was brave enough to ride along without holding on so I could run the camera.
Another RiverDave video creation. Supposed to be saved for the web site grand opening but oh well.
Sent all of the quad rotor boat footage to RD and he put this together.
We still have not managed to get the GPS speedometer to peg out on tape. Can get it on recall but that is it.
Will send it in for repairs over the winter. Speaking of winter. Most of the footage shot last week. Some from the maiden voyage back in May.
If you don't like the song it is my fault. ;) Might have to right click on it and save it to your computer then run it.

It would be even better if the throttle was not being fed gradually. Trying to preserve the drive.
The OSO guys really chewed my butt for running a stock drive. I had to tell them it was not my boat and: "I TOLD HIM TO BUY A BETTER DRIVE" "I TRIED TO STOP HIM"

OK, well first off, I just downloaded the big on in about 4 minutes on cable modem here. The server only has bandwidth of 2 T1 lines going to it :rolleyes: but when there were almost 900 downloads of a 25 meg vid yesterday, and more trying today, it's gonna take some time.
Also, the DNS provider is having issues with there server, so RRL might not even resolve. I've added a third DNS entry which should help, but can take up to 24hrs to propogate through the web. In the mean time, I'm hoping the main servers come back up, which will help.

It would not have been pretty.
I hear more XR drive B-max drive failure complaints than anything else. Any drive might fail. But explode like they are saying?
We ran the piss out of it last week , went straight to the trailer and the drive was cool to the touch.

If I remember correctly about 5+ years ago, other than a #6 most high HP motors were run with a Bravo I? It seems that those drives are pretty strong when taken care of.
I'm still running my stock Bravo I waiting for it to fail to upgrade the parts.

It is their Lightning 24. Started life as the daytona 23 mold. They put a step in it and a few other things.
I did not mention this but most peple know the boat belongs to "Well Done" . I did the online real time engine build project for him. Will reconstruct that also on the River Rats site.

We have had the GPS recall the equavilent of 130 before. Just never on tape.
One recall on that tape was the maiden voyage. Did not know how to trim out the boat and the other recall we were lucky to get at all because the speedo was acting weird. Would stick at about 112 or so then go nuts back and forth. Time to send it in for repair (again)
The boat feels stable.
I have seen the owner accidentally trim the boat up to a 45 degree angle going full blast. Scared the shit out of everyone. He had a death grip on the wheel and trim button. The trim gage does not work real time for some reason.

Keep in mind that I don't know shit...but gears have been know to come out the side of drives. Even "indestructable" ones.
I'm not sure how much would happen (since the prop is on the back of the outdrive). After all...at least it's not a jet.
