I see these guys all over ... usually about this time of year too because its getting darker earlier , so something , I dont know etc.....
Anyhow they totally piss me off because :
1) They are on a retired Police or CHP Motocycles
2) they have ALMOST the same style helmets
3) They dress ALMOST like the real deal
4) They ride your ass in traffic, speed up and sit on you tail ...they point with their hands and make jestures....
I mean what gives..... The minute if I fugure out they are nothing or nobodys I ride their asses - point & make jestures....these guys are a menace and a saftey hazard....
Does anyone see these same assholes ???
How about real cops - what do you guys have to say ???
Are these guys organized - is there a wannabes club or some shit out there ...?

So, are they like funeral cops? Or are they just knuckleheads riding those old cop bikes and wearing those half assed white chips helmets??

no man,,,, they are dressed up in black or brown uni's - with no patches ...... They are on a decommisioned bikes.... out there playing the part...... They get in the #3 lane and go 55...... slows traffic and everything .........then you have the guy speeding that almost passes them and slams the brakes almost crashing etc....
That what just fugg'in happend to me .........

Have to be the escort police for funerals, I have heard some are off duty cops making extra cash.

Sound like fake cops too me,
you know, the wanna bees.
Like the guys that buy crown vics and pretend like there cop CARS.
Movie cops are real cops they have their city patches and ride their own bikes.
I DONT KNOW ABOUT RIDING THERE ASSES THOUGH, THAT CAN BE DANGEROUS. IT IS WRONG THAT THEY DO IT TOO YOU....

No, I know the ones you are talking about, and these are not the "funeral" motorcycles. These are indeed retired CHP/PD cycles, and you are right, they do try to dress like a real cop. Not sure what their deal is, but have seen some from time to time in south OC....don't know what to tell you about them, but they do ride around during the day, and even at a distance it looks real....

In high school a friend had an old balck and white ford ltd cop car. It did have all the cop stuff taken off and the doors were re-painted solid white before he got it. But it still looked pretty much like a cop car. We were a bunch of long haired stoners and took that car all over. People would pull up beside REALLLLLLL slow checking it out. lol, they would look inside and see us rolling down the road doing bong rips.
You know, I just turned 40 and I'm still not sure how I made it this far.

Most of the guys you see wearing the brown uniforms and no patches are private citizens or retired cops who do traffic control for funeral processions. They don't have any law enforcement powers. There should not be any red or blue emergency light on the motorcycles.
Only emergency vehicles can legally have a solid or flashing red light showing to the front of the vehicle.

I have seen these guys all over southern Cal.
Don't know what their deal is but they sure like to f@#k up traffic!
