My only suggestion is to paint flames that look like real flames not the stuff you usually see on trucks, bikes and boats.
Someone here has that Ford F-150 truck and boat (forget what make it was) that are black with realistic looking flames painted on the front ends of both the truck and boat.
Not this:

But something like this (can't find a better example online right now):

I assumed tits and vaginas were right up your alley?
Now they're not good enough for your boat?

hey 502procharger.
I would highly recomend Mike Lavalle of killerpaint.com He has done my truck, boat, and business partner's helicopter with his fire. He is the most talented artist I have ever met, and a great guy also. He will fly anywhere to do his art. Check out his web site, or you can catch him on monster garage, motocycle mania 3,and the learning channel.

Check with Billy B, he is the master painter in these parts. He hangs out in the V-drive forum.

A good flame job takes real creative talent, it should not be attempted by anyone that has not done it hundreds of times before. Find an expert and pay to have it done correctly, your boat looks too nice to mess up now

Very good advice.I have over 30 years of experience along these lines and it isn't something you can master the first time around the block. Another suggestion is to think outside of tradition. I have painted alot of flames using colors besides the traditional red, yellow, white and blue..........Wish I were there to help you out. If nothing else find someone with the experience just to supervise. Last thing...go to the lumber yard and buy a sheet of masonite with the white coating. Practice on the board until you get your layout and fogging the way you want. lol

OK, here's the thing with flames. They are an artists interpretation. I like those realistic flames posted above but they don't feel like "flames". They feel like "fire" which in my head is different.
So if you want realistic fire, go with that stuff on the boat/truck/helicopeter. If you want flames, have an artist draw them like they've been doing for 100 years.
