Any of you have a Gamecube, or maybe your kid does? I was thinking of getting one for my son for christmas and would really like some input from anyone that has one as to whether or not you like it the good the bad what ever you have to offer. Maybe someone has one that they are looking to sell???
Thanks
Shawn

Go X-Box for the highest technology or PS2 for the most titles. The Gamecube doesn't do anything well and is a distant third in sales because of it.

It depends how old your child is. My youngest who is 5 has Gamecube and he enjoys it, but it does not compare to PS2. The games for Gamecube tend to be geared more for the younger kids. My 11 year old son has PS2, and it is much more realistic. If I was to only buy one system, I would go with PS2 over Gamecube.

I have gamecube and I like it. It depends on what kinds of games you like. I got mine because I like Mario Cart.

I got the kids gamecube (10, 9 & 7). I based my decision on the gamecubes younger age titles and the controllers are smaller and fit their hands better.

Well my son is almost 4. I know that they do have a lot of games that are Rated for everyone. WHich is what Im looking for. I dont want any violent games. Im talkin about Mario Bros. and such. The more info I get the better. Thanks guys. Oh and BTW I would also like to be able to take it on trips so that maybe he could play in the Tahoe on long trips and whatnot.

I would say the Gamecube if your son is 4. They have lots of games for him, Shrek, Mario Bros, etc. It works good in the car. Pick up some cordless controllers too, they work really well.

Most game developers don't publish games for all three boxes. If you're into the Nintendo games then you're pretty much limited to Gamebox. If you want the widest selection (Note: who's actually purchasing the games) then PS2. For the highest performance, as I said, X-Box is the way to go - for now, at least.

Well as I said, it really is for my son who is almost 4. I have a Dreamcast right now and love it. But I wouldnt mind playing Mario Cart on the big screen with him. Maybe when he is older we can think about the other systems, or what ever is available at the time.

I got a gamecube for the kids. If they're into Mario/Pokemon/Kirby/Zeldo or any of the other Nintendo trademarks, gamecube is your only choice. As much as I don't like Nintendo's quasi monopolistics tactics I do think they really do make quality stuff that is built to last at a good price.

I also saw at Bestbuy that they make a lcd screen that attaches to the cube and then plugs into a 12v lighter. Pretty damn cool if you ask me.

I have an X Box and love it, but for kids I'd stick with the Gamecube. I know how you feel, I have a Dreamcast too (and really enjoyed it).
