Did anybody else go to this concert? It was on the site where the Blockbuster pavillion now stands in Devore, Ca. Back in those days it was just an open meadow. It took place on Memorial Day weekend 1983. I was 16 at the time and that was some party. I lost a sleeping bag to the mud, it was over 100 degrees, and they found four people dead after it was all over. There was well over 200,000 peeps in attendance. What A Party!

I was 13, and I'm not sure if it was the first or second US festival that my parents made me go to with them. Oh yeah did I mention, it was the country and western US festival! Yuck! I do remember seeing a guy with a hefty bag full of weed. My little brother told my mom, "hey look at those poor people, they have to share their cigarettes."

I didn't go to that one, but I went to Mountainaire in 1984 at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds. Let see if I can remember the lineup

Katrina and the Waves
And a couple of other bands that have slipped from my memory. In between acts they had an aireal demonstration with p-51s, Art Schol (super chipmunk) who flew and died while filming top gun the same year. It was a wild time, hot as hell, full of people. No trash bags of weed though....:D

One of the STONERS that I went there with ( his mom dropped us off and picked us up a couple days later) took like a friggin brick of the chronic. Our lungs were sore by Sunday Night. :rolleyes:
