Good news about my Dad

My mom just called. The surgery is over. The procedure was scaled back because it wasn't as bad as they thought.
The doctor said they will remove the breathing tube sometime tonight and he may go from recovery to a regular room. They had thought he would be in ICU for a couple of days.

My brother called a few minutes ago and put Dad on the phone. He sounds like his normal cantankerous self .
I'm one of those that has a kinda arms length relationships with my Dad. This has been a confusing and difficult experience. I wish I was like some of you that get along great with the "old man".
That being said, I was happy to talk to him. He's a tough old SOB. Told me he is gonna get out of the hospital and work until he's 80. :D :D
