Were going to Shaver for 4th of July weekend. July 1st - 6th. Camping at Edison with other boating families. Has anyone ever spent 4th of July, or any other big weekend here? Thoughts, gripes, suggestions etc, Thanks.

Can't be of too much help, was quite a few years ago I was there, we stayed at a house at Edison, nice lake, and about the only thing I do remember is that there are HUGE rocks and at the time we were there, they were basically right underneath us! Watch out! :D

I have visited the lake, while working though not with my boat. It is nice, a little small and it sure seemed like it was farther than an hour up the hill from Fresno...

From a local, shaver lake is a good mountain lake. restruants in town to eat at, over the last couple of years they have had fireworks displays over the lake on the 4th.
My parents use to have a cabin about 15 minutes further up the hill. Great family boating lake.
Huntington is too high in elevation about 7000 ft, where shaver is at 5000 ft. Hunington is really cold water, plus it is a sailing lake.

My friend that is going with us was there last 4th of July and loved it. He said that watching the fireworks from his boat was just awesome. I'm looking foward to that.
