Best rides are in the downhill sections of the parking lot. Given a running start with a fully loaded large Costco shopping cart, I can get that bad-boy up to 42MPH :D 'course stopping is a whole 'nother issue...

I thought doin that was the norm....cart races. 5 wide, 1/4 mile downhill. Not too many places that can be done anymore, I miss the old days.

When I used to wrench on the Sprint Car a bunch of other guys and I went to the local supermarket after the race for a beer run. Well, what do you think a bunch of race car mechanics do when they go to the store with each other? CLEAN UP AISLE 5! I woulda won except that dirty MoFo from J.J. Yeley's team took me out in the frozen foods section!

Did you get a GPS on that speed;) or like all boaters, did we exaggerate maybe just a little?:D
BTW, I agree with the costco carts piled high! What a ride...my daughters get on the front and hold on while I drive....

Ditto here. Those carts with some weight in them can get cookin'....but that's after all the 4 wheel drift turns during the shopping mode.....my daughter loves it in the store when I put on the brakes(shoe on floor), tennis shoes make one hell of a screech on a well pollished floor:D
The childs perspective:
Dad= Fun stuff
Mom= Business

I do it all the way to the car in the parking lot. I hate the grocery store though. I have deal worked out with the wife so I don't have to go.

<------guilty. i really like the last blind slide around the corner on the way out the front door. the local grocery store keeps the floor waxed really nice. on that one the cart will usualy make it's own noise too.:D

Or walking thru the store with a friend in tow and grabbing stuff and throwing it back for them to catch and put back on the shelf is always fun.

As far as getting out of it by the time you get to the registers, I used to, but now with the temporary employees and all... :)

not to change the subject,but did anybody notice that the big toothpic type things that hold the sandwitch's and burgers together along with a straw make a great blow gun? if your ever in the R.C. area and you see darts stuck in the ceiling of some of the restaurants then you will know i was there!:D :D :D 46 and counting

I do it. I also make really loud squeeling noises taking turns while doing the 4 wheel drift you guys talked about and then make a REALLY loud screech as if i was slamming on the brakes when i get to the register or need to stop.
For some reason I seem to go shopping alone. People don't like going to the grocery store with me these days. :rolleyes:

in store riding is ok but the best is in the parking lot with a slight downhill hittin the speed bumps. The late model larger carts take the bumps better than the older little ones, those can throw ya right on your ass. :D

I have also bent up many a shopping cart in my time. My fav is after you have hauled ass to your car in the parking lot, is to "ghost ride" the cart and try to aim it for the cart rack in the parking lot. Or if its too far away give it a good shove into the planter and see how many times you can get that bad boy to endo!!:D I am not married or have any kids yet, but when I do they will be embarrassed to take me anywhere.;)

My college room mate and I had a VW bus and we'd load the whole cart in it. It made taking in the groceries to our apartment so much easier. We carried the whole cart up the stairs, emptied it and then pushed it down the stairs.... :rolleyes: :eek: :D .
Needless to say the neighbors were a little upset. :confused:

I use the handle as a twist throttle!!! You go faster that way!!!!!

BGMAN203
01-16-2004, 05:44 PM
Also, when your going down the short shoot, "isle", and you need to turn right or left, jump on the top of the rear tire of the direction you need to turn. The cart makes the real squeeling tire noise, and leaves a cool skidmark on the floor!:D

Just did it last night at the grocery store and walmart with MsEduKATor. I had an empty cart she had the full one, we had a crash em up derby throughout the stores. I stopped only because I saw a few of my students. Damn, I had to set a good example. The thing that pisses me off is I always get the ones that have the wobbly wheels. Try to push them straight and they make a circle. Great for a circle track, horrible for the straight drags down the isle. MsEduKATor is a good sport, she even tries to make motor sound effects. I'm 27 going on 15, she's 26.
