I got the black one. They come with the decals but its an option to put them on. I did not find it hard to ride same as an xr50. im 165 5'10 it was awesome though..Once I rode it I went straight to the computer and ordered it. I really liked the fact that it had front and rear disc brakes. I am buying another one for my nephew. He will love this thing.

I bought the Blue one. I'll get sick of it in a couple of weeks and Blue is Hack Jobs favorite color so it will make it an easy sell. ;)
I'll have to wait and see how it turns out, if its halfway cool, I'll pick one or two more up to keep as beaters for when large amounts of alcohol are consumed and the need for speed is felt by any guests we may have. :D

WW, see if we can pick them up and save the shipping. The auction lists the shipping charge as $79 + $9.75 for insurance. Their location shows Los Angeles so it's close enough where we can either pick them up individually or have a couple guys get all of em.

Well let me know about the group purchase as well. I have a bid in on one right now. I figure I'll buy it play with it and see how quick it goes in the paper here for $600. If it goes quick I think I found myself a nice little side income to help me get the new business off the ground.

I got a chance to see these little guys last weekend at the races. They're pretty cool.
The company is called Pocket Choppers, their website is sorta operative; http://www.pocketchoppers.com
Lots more expensive than the jap bike you guys are talking about though....

The guy is in La Puente and said he'd charge me a $25 handling fee + tax if I picked it up. I'm still waiting for the address so we'll see. No $$ going anywhere until I hear back on the addy.
As far as a group purchase, these things are ALL OVER ebay. There was one dude offering a distributor package of 3-5 bikes (can't remember) with $810 showing no reserve. Just do a search for pocket bike and you'll get tons of options. Obviously it would be cheaper to go the so cal route if you can for shipping reasons, but this guy does not have the corner on the market. My guess is that when he does get back to you, he'd be down with a group purchase, but probably up just a tad from $300.
Hopefully I'll pick mine up today and can get some pics and impressions.

"I was a bit worried my self, seems paysafe only answers email on sunday
night or monday morning. However that being said, he did ship
immediately
and I got the bike in due time. I love the pocket bike, seems to be
good
quality, started right up and Im having a ball wiht it. I trust the
bad
emails are from people wanting instant email verification, and he seems
to
only answer once a week, hope this helps."

I remember something on e-bay about be aware of high shipping costs. I think this is how they make some of their money. I'd be surprised if he sells one for $325 without the shipping cost. I saw one sell yesterday as high as $405!! That does't include ebay insurance(mandatory), CA Tax, and shipping.
There selling as fast as he can post them so I don't see an advantage for him to sell them that cheap. But, what do I know I'm just being a hater since I paid more than $340 yesterday. DAMN!!!

Maybe I'll research it and find the wholesaler this guy is buying them from. If I find them I will let you guys know.

Call this guy, he is a distributor for a few differnt companies out of japan and italy. Some of the bikes he carries will run up to 65-70 mph. He also has scooters elec/gas and harley looking poket bikes also. The GRC Poket Bikes and the Polini's are the nicest. I think that the guy that you are buying these from is Frank. He used to have a store in azusa, he had tons of these in stock. Gabe is the one that got him into business, if I remember correctly.

He also said he spoke to Ron about all the people on ***boat and Ron said get em together and hed do a deal which sounds like what you guys already have going. His site lists the nice ones....my bro has two, one GRC and one Blata...they are bad ass....I would like one of these $325 models just because they are so cheap....if folks give them favorable reviews, I might step up and get one.....

I'm bidding on one right now that ends in 30 some minutes. Last night I seen them going for 310 or so. Today I decided I'd go as high as $335. Seems like the higher i am willing to go the higher someone else is willing to go. It's really starting to irritate me. We'll see what happens with this next one.

You must "SNIPE" my man.
Open two browser windows. Put as much as you are willing to pay in the amount of this first browser. Do not push the bid now button. Open another window with the same auction. Hit reload on the second browser window and when there are about 25 seconds remaining in the auction, go back to the first browser and make the bid. If you are willing to pay 335. Bid 337.68. that way if it is a tie you will get it.

After exhaustive testing, I can vouch for the blue model :D It took a few minutes to regain some of my high-school flexibility, but once I got on, no problem. Nothing amazing out of the hole, but worth every penny of the couple hundred bux I spent on it. My only gripe was that they didn't have em in yellow, and my winshield had a hairline crack which is already growing. Thankfully the windscreen is separate from the front faring, so it can be fixed.
Upgrade custom items that WSUWRHR here will want to get moving on will be pegs, possibly new bars, and a seat extension/riser. I have some ideas on that which I'll probably be adding to my unit after a while. I had to air up the rear tire quite a bit, but after that and a lot of pulling the first time around, the thing runs great. We shot video of it along with the inagural <sp> speed run which Hacker will post up here later tonight or tomorrow morning.
I'll have to pick up a second one here pretty quick for spare parts as I have a sneaky pete in the garage just begging to be installed. ;) The top speed left a little to be desired from a numbers perspective, but it is fast enough for now considering the balance is a little akward at first to get used to and you're low to the ground. I'm sure that once I get past the 20:1 break in mix she'll run a little better at 32:1. Ahh the sweet smell of Maxima Castor :D :D :D Something I miss after selling my R.
I'll be looking forward to hearing/seeing everyone elses responses after messing around with theirs. Now all we have to do is talk Hacker OUT of the Chopper looking one and into a little pocket bike of his own.

Hey Brandon,
We close at 6 pm Mon-Friday, we open at 10am.
As for making these bikes go faster, i have had a customer swap out the carburetor for an american made one, he says it goes alot faster. Not too sure of the details, but maybe you can take it to a bike shop or maybe call a friend of mine, Gabriel at Mini Moto, his number is 661-263-1339. He may have an upgrade or two for you to look into.Hes been in the pocket bike biz for over 5 years, and does parts mainly.

He says they have a really good motor..After testing tonight he says they will be offered for around 50.00 plus 15.00 for a bigger sprocket. He says this will make a hell of a difference on the speed,...YEs..lol more power is always good.

I asked the ebay dept and they said that only one bike was paid for so far and that one has been shipped. Will be at your door in the next 2 days, in time for the weekend.
The other one is still pending payment, so it has not left the door yet.

Oh and Dave,
The 27.7 was with the break in mix in there. Once I get it broken in, I'll switch over to 32:1 and lean her out a little bit. But I'm thinking that a little C16 and a compression increase would be the hot setup. A better pipe would probably really bring things to life as well. Honestly, without a steering damper, I wouldn't want to go much over 30 anyhow. The thing does get a little wobly on the top end with my weight up above it.
I'm glad to hear Ron will be stocking the replacement parts as I'm going to be going through some parts to be sure.

Must have taken over 100 pulls. Got blisters on both hands. I might have had the choke on the wrong setting for a while.
Picked mine up at noon Wed. and was tearing up the street by 1:15. If you're worried about being too big, don't. I'm about 6'3" and 245 on a good day and I had no problems.

I'm thinking they probably wont do too well in the sand. I know they won't even pull on grass very well, but then again, I'm on the larger side of life at 250.
For any of you that were contemplating buying the chopper... They are nice, electric start, signals, lights, and no contortion act to get on, but you will get SPANKED by the pocket bikes all day long. I easily had a couple mph over Hacker on his chopper and pulled him in very quick.
On the starting, I've found that mine is a little rough to get started (that handle hurts like a bitch after 50 or so pulls) Mess with the choke around 1/8 to 1/4 closed and you might have better results.
To the guy thats riding with his arms around his legs, I found it easier with the arms inside the legs. After riding it the first couple times it feels pretty natural now. I might not even bother with that billet seat extension I was contemplating.

I must have tried starting mine for an hour last night with no luck. I loooked down at my hand at one point and blood was every where from a nasty blister. I took it back to Ron this morning for a trade, he said no problem. Matter of fact he said that the bigger models are due in next week. They will be a tad bit slower than the pocket bikes but in my opinion they will be a little more rider friendly. If you look through the ebay archives you will see them, they are the yellow ones with the full faring. I am going with one of these instead. I also picked up a chopper for one of the board memebers (Bohica). They are pretty cool, electic start with gages.
I just want to say Ron is a great guy to deal with. I will probably be picking up a few more next week for some friends who have been watching this thread.

Hi,
Just got a few deals here for these 43 cc Z-500 mini ducatis.
Same look as the z-600 on our site.
They were damaged just a bit, chipped rear faring, cracked winshield, everything else is perfect shape.
We are letting these go for only 320.00. They dont go as fast as a pocket bike though but they are bigger. Some of you might have seen them at our warehouse.
There is only 6 pcs left now out of 9.
Just let me know if anyone is interested !

These bikes are good cruising bikes, dont expect them to go as fast as the pocket bikes or even the 49cc choppers, but they are definetly great to cruise around or for kids to ride around even.
They look pretty cool as well, IMO

Not yet, I keep waiting for one in the $275 price range so that I can get out the door for less than $400 shipped to me. I saw the chopper go for $265 yesterday, but I am holding out for the street bike. I think I need to wake up about 4:00AM and check them out. Not as many people driving up the price at that time of the day. ;)
Campground........definately!! :D
Two stroke..........a little port clean up, milled head, larger carb jets, worked exhaust, and sprocket change. Then run 100 octane or so for the increase compression..........of course I have that and the synthetic lube right in the garage premixed 32:1........so no problem there. :D

Gabriel is the guy you want to talk to about making those bikes run faster. Your buying some chinesse knock offs. He's been dealing with these bikes for the past 15+ years, since they were on the show Chips way back when. He has tuned pipes, heads, racing clutches, many differnt size sprockets. He also has some sick ass fast italian bikes from GRC, and Polini that are rockets. They pull wheelies coming out of corners at 30mph and run in the high 60's to low 70's.
