I recently purchased a Vortech Maxiflow kit for my '99 502 MPI. Won't work. Vortech sent me another complete kit, harness and all, won't work. By pass system, works fine. Any one have any ideas. Followed instructions to the letter, won't work. Help, please.

What exactly do you mean by "wouldn't work"?? The reprogrammed ecm?? I just did this system on my 2000 502 and had the computer done at AZ Speed & Marine and evrything works great. I did the whole kit except the msd ignition.

Found problem last night on vortech hookup. There is a 4-way connection that OEM coil wires hook up to. Took it apart and found one wire not connected, repaired and started up fine. Only problem now is very bad lope which according to folks at Hot Boat who did the test, will go away once fuel optimizer is connected (that's next). After that is another trip to folks at Mercury for another Lab finished prop to kick it up 2 inches. Will report on findings.

Dude, that was cold man!! I'm sure if we took 1,000 lbs. off and put a step in the hull it would have been a different story! http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif
Probably no Havasu trips until late June or early July. We're going to be doing plenty of trips to Lake Pleasant in Phx. though. Got about 3 years left before we can shop out a new 30' Sleek!! Take care Jim, have fun with all the maniacs if you're headed to Havasu this weekend!!
