Crowds weren't bad at all today!
Saw a bunch a board people and a lot of very sweet boats.
DCB's fancy booth made it clear why, besides their high quality, their boats are so expensive.
Eliminator had a lot of very nice boats there and lots of great powerplants - V10s, quad rotors, blowers, you name it, they had it on display.
Shockwave's 26 Cat looks GREAT! Barry and Alan were pressing the flesh making everyone welcome in their booth.
The Bullets at Howard are classy, quality, beautiful rides. GT's gelcoat scheme looks great and has a touch of "bass-boat glitter" in it. Where's the fish-finder?! Mike Willen was great to talk to.
The show's in two halls - the upper one has most of the boats and the lower hall has some boats (probably the ones that didn't reserve space early enough to get into the upper hall or just haven't been in the show for enough years to get space in the upper hall) and lots of products and other stuff to buy.
There are a lot of hotties there but most are walking the show with their BFs/husbands. Lots to look at on two legs and on trailers :D
I think I gotta go back.
PS: if you're driving a tall, lifted truck, go early or consider bringing your car. My truck wouldn't fit inside the parking structure but I was lucky enough to get some help from the parking staff and parked my Chevy in an enclosed, secure lot filled with lifted Super Doodie trucks :D and lots of barren boat trailers (lots of boats in the show are on dollies or on the floor which is nice).

Charlie's company did that setup....I heard they stepped it up a notch this year....and don't believe that they are more expensive...price them against their competition apples to apples with power etc...you would be suprised.:D

Now that blue Ultra is my kind of boat.
Must be some pretty solid water to require that cage.
Drag boat headers. Too cool !!!!!!!
Some of those "X" dimension are sick.

Dave is always ready to sell.... but you should do triples on a 29, they have done some already. I almost got a 29, but I decided that I did not want any payments, so in a couple years I will get a 29 with twin IO's...

I pulled into the parking structure in the back of the Convention Center (the other one on the street in the front of the center clearly was too short) and just squeaked under the height indicator. I do that a lot in my truck and I'm usually good-to-go. But once I paid my $10 parking fee and drove in the next height indicator touched my roof! I used my hand to lift it up and had to U-turn it right out of the structure.
I talked to the guy in the booth and he said to drive down the street further and go into a small lot on the left. There was a security guard on duty and he told me to park in there and leave my ticket on the dashboard.
So I recommend you guys go to the street behind the Convention Center and stop on the street right by the entrance to the parking structure. Go see the guy in the booth, give him a 10-spot and ask him about the small lot (it has a buncha trailers in it).
By the way, if you get there early enough they could have parking inside the Convention Center (in the "basement"). There were a LOT of vehicles parked in there - we walked through there to get to the show - and there's plenty of height for lifted trucks. We didn't get there early enough to park there.
I had no desire to park in any of the private lots close to the center. Too much risk for vandalism (in my opinion).

I have a lifted Excursion, and we were told to go to an office and that they would open the oversized vehicle lot across from the Convention Ctr. Well they are not going to be doing that, at least they didn't for me and three other folks that did what i did, they told us all the boat trailers were taking all the space up, there are some covered garages across from the convention ctr and staples, directly across from the Valet parking, it's 10 bucks and there are folks standing and watching your vehicle, i just for the hell of it took off my hitch and put it in the truck, the show was great saw some friends, and met some new ones from the boards, great time.

Drive the wifes car and save the headache.
Lifted trucks have NO PLACE TO PARK.
Go early, as the day goes on the parking goes up. We arrived at 1145 and it was 10 bucks, when we left at 2 and it was at 30 Bucks...
Yes it was someone from the boards.
AND IT IS BAD ASS.....

Oceanside,
Good luck on your decision...My experience with DCB was second to none...Dave is a great guy and the crew is pretty much over the top in how they rig...Here is a pic of it...the second link is to my gallery where you can see the build of my boat and Unionjack's boats and some other DCB's such Boxscore's Baller's and Levoe's...Let me know if you have any questions...be happy to answer to them...

The show was great! My girlfriend and I had a great time, killed nearly 6 hours there. I will get the pics downloaded hopefully soon- I think I have nearly 100.
Shockwave 26 Cat- great looking boat. It was great talking with Barry. I know he is doing some INCREDIBLE pricing on the first 5 cats out--KILRTOY, this is your chance. Beautiful boats.
Howard--once again, they are my favorite. Their boats are incredible and Gene and Mike are great. Travis (HCB26), it was good talking with you. Good luck on the new 26 Cat. The bullet series is definately one of the nicest Vees ever. That is atop my short list!
DCB- they sure do have the hookup with the "concert set" :D Great looking display, and as usual, very nice boats. I recognize all of the boats to be board members (except the 34 and 29). Congrats to all of you on your awesome boats. Charley, it was great talking with you- look forward to Havasu this summer.
Force- Special thanks to the hosiptality from Dan- it was very much so appreciated. These boats are definately at the top of the cat market. The open bow 29 is just huge- what a great use of space. Their prices are definately tough to beat. The new canopy is SICK- I'll post some pics of this soon too. PS- I heard many good stories from Force owners about financing through EBoatLoans- sounds like a sure bet way to go. Dean- it was great talking with you.
Ultra- John had a great setup and I really enjoyed talking to him, while sitting in the new 24 Stealth. One of the best looking boats in his line--all of you who have one on order- congrats and can't wait to see it. His gels are definately standout- great experience while in their booth.
Eliminator- they debuted their new 28 daytona with canopies, it had the VIPER V-10s. Nice looking boat, definately like the canopy lines. Did anyone see a 25 Daytona (without canopies)- the one that started it all. I didn't see it, maybe I just missed it. Eliminator definately has a canopy craze- but their booth was packed so I guess people want them.
Conquest- very very nice looking deck boats. Dimarcobros: I love the boat. The Top Cat II is definately the way to go within this Line. Didn't get to talk with Keith, he was pretty busy.
Magic-- they had the exact same boats that were at the Phx Show- nice looking boats. I love their deck boat too. I can see why so many of you own them.
Dana- OGShocker: it was great to meet you. The boats you offered at the price is incredible. Definately a 27' boat that needs to appear on peoples list.
Schiada- I talked with Lee for about 10 minutes. Great guy- I can't wait to see the new 43 Vee. Thats got to be huge. I'm not sure how everyone else does tooling, but the 32 and the new 43 are both CNC tooled. Gotta be $$$, but the lines of the 32 are beautiful. The 32 on display looked mighty familiar :D
Lavey had a nice display and the new deck boat was definately nice looking- another boat to make you think if you are in that market. Great gel designs.
I had a great time at the show and can't wait til next year- hopefully my new boat will be on the floor of the show next year.
I'll get the pics up soon! For all of the other members I missed, we'll have to catch up this summer at Havasu.

It should do about 105 top end....out of the hole it is great....There is a 29 running around with twins running right at 100 I think....It is also an open bow boat....A couple of folks have said go with triples on the 29's....I say you can maybe pick up 5-7 mph...but its not worth it...getting in an out of the boat would not even be possible....

MBrown2, funny you should mention the whole getting in/out of the boat thing. My fiance saw the pic of your boat and asked "how do you get in the thing when you're floating?" Is it very hard with that little center swim step? Do you worry about people cutting themselves on the props? Seems to me you have to contort to get beneath the tie rod and onto the swim step but maybe you could clarify.

Havasu Cig
01-26-2004, 11:10 AM
I had a 26 with twins and it was not hard at all to get in and out. You do have to be careful of the props though, one of our female passengers sustained about a 4" gash on her foot when jumping off the plateform for some beads.
