Just got quoted through progessive auto...they quoted me at 469.00 for 12 months with 2 tickets on my record for a 1999 commander lx with a 350. This is what I am hoping to purchase before summer...Does this price sound right?

I have a 22' 4" Tunnel. With a blown 502... I have insurance through progressive.. but I didn’t have the engine work done when I got the ins. and I got it through a broker.. My thinking is that he got pretty creative. My boat is an Eliminator on paper.. And the systems the ins company has didn’t recognize SST... so I Let them take pictures and had to go with what they called it.
I pay 1100 a year..
I have tried to get insured through other companies (telling them everything about the boat).. And they wont touch me.. I have no tickets.. no accidents.. Nothing …and I’m over 30... They say my boat is to fast and to small..

Insurance company's are totally retarded when it comes to custom boats!!
I think I'm one of the lucky one's here. State Farm covers my house, truck, suv, boat, and rv for $235 a month. Full coverage on everything. Granted none of my stuff is super new or very expensive so the "replacement value" isn't that high.
Mirvin;)

We just insured our 2004 21' Shockwave Step Skier. There was several different types to choose from. We are with Progressive, the main things was that determined the price was value and speed. We went with full replacement cost, full coverage on everything. We are paying $ 503.00 per year.
Bigyellowcat, I am sure it wasn't a cheep boat, but it must be one fast cat. What is you top speed?;) :(

10K for a big yellow 42' cat seems about right even at LOTO. I'm waiting for an HTM owner to reply...

I'm just shy of $1,400 for a 2002 26 foot Commander Cat with a 496 Mag. I'm 27 no tickets, no accidents ever and with the 496 Mag I'm not breaking any speed records anytime soon. Progressive was the only one who would insure me when I purchased it. I'm hearing stories of other cat owners being dropped by them so I'm just waiting for my letter. If anyone else with a similar size Cat and motor package is getting way better rates give me a PM.

I think some of these non renewal notices that people with clean records get are alot like us pulling our chips off of the come line after a good winning streak. They figure you're gonna crap out before too long.
