HEE HEE HEE:wink:
Chappy, don't let them steer you wrong. Four bangers kick ass. I like the way they run all ****ing weekend on half a tank of gas!! If you get set up with gps you can just leave early and meet up with everyone right when you get there.
It'll be sweet.

I suppose it depends how big the board is and how it's fastened to the skier. Or does the skier in fact count in the 5-6 people on the board. Ya gotta clarify it a little bit. ;) :D

6 would be max on the boat. probably only wake board and knee board

I see. So of the six on board, how many are going to have paddles to help get the boat going? Figure the max will be five because it's just not safe to try and drive and paddle at the same time. :D
OK, all joking aside, I'd strongly suggest something bigger than a 4 cyl. if you plan on doing anything other than putting around the lake. With any kind of weight in the boat that 4 banger will be flogged and that's without trying to pull the weight and overcome the drag of a wakeboard plowing through the water. I'd go with a minimum of a V6, and preferably a V8 if you're going to try and accomplish anything within the length of the lake you're on. Kinda like trying to waterski behind an old pontoon boat with a small hp outboard. The skis just never really get all the way on plane.

Would the skier mind usind an ironing board for a water ski?

What kinda boat we talking? Some of the 14-16ft Sea-doo style boats seem to do alright with a max of 4 peeps... Including the skier...

Chappy, we have had a 71 Glastron with a straight 4 cyl for 15 years. If your skier is over 150#'s they will have to drag for quite a while. My husband is an great skier and could get up behind it any day of the week (being dragged). He is 40 yrs old now and about 180#'s this year was the first he couldn't get up everytime. Then it, the boat seat, broke and split his toe wide open. Now we have a new Shockwave Step Skier. I would suggest a boat with at least a V6. Just my .02. :D :D :D

5 banger with a blower and nitrous should pull a skier out no problem. Just hit the nitrous when starting and then let the blower handle the rest.:D :D

U want the truth? Depends on the boat and the size of the 5-6 people.
One of my old boats was a 2001 Stingray 18-foot with the 3.0 4 cylinder. That boat would run an honest 45 with 6 adults in the boat and deep water start a 180 pound slalom skier NO PROBLEM, and yes, run all weekend on 20 gallons fuel. Suggest putting a couple people up in the bow to get started.
I'm skiing behind a Hallett Vector now (closed bow similar to the 210) with a 454 mag that runs about 70 w/full tank fuel and STRUGGLE to get up behind it no matter how hard the driver lays into the throttle.
What boat were you thinking of? I've driven others that no way would pull you up, and some of the v-6 struggle too.
