Northwoods can't even compare to Ruth's Chris! Ruth's Chris is by far the best steakhouse I have ever eaten at. there used to be a place in Vegas, The Flame, that was excellent as well!

Ruth's Chris in Palm Desert is an awesome place. Let's not forget Chop House or Lawry's ( In Chicago of Course).

Always wanted to try Ruth's Chris, heard it was da bomb. The Orleans Room at the Colorado Belle in Laughlin used to be excellent...USED to be. We went there a couple months ago and everything has changed. My prime rib was actually cold when I got it and they don't offer freshly made salads at the table anymore. Crossed that place off my list.

I've been to all of the above and have to say Ruth Chris has the best Porterhouse. A few years ago Houstons used to have a 26 ounce Porterhouse that was the best I had ever eaten. I went back shortly after and it was off the menu.

I'm friends with lots of owners and chefs of great places here in Palm Springs/Palm Desert. It's always a safe bet to go to Flemmings, LG's, Morton's and Ruth's Chris. Yeah, it gets a little pricey, but, it's always high quality stuff. Sullivan's in Palm Desert is always good too. Have the filet or rib eye with a martini at the bar while you're listening to live jazz. I do it a few times a month:D
Of course for THE best freakin baby back ribs and burgers, ya gotta go to ROC's Firehouse Grille (http://rocsfirehouse.us/index.htm) :D

I'm actually agreeing with MMD!
The COSTCO steaks are great for back yard grilling, BUT Ruth's Chris is the best! Morton's doesn't hold a candle to them IMHO. Donovan's in La Jolla is also excellent, but I'd still give the nod to R'sC...

Then after the Steak the best desserts are at a place in Captiva, FL at a place called The Bubble Room. Awesome cakes and a killer Red Velvet. Better than Ruth Chris steaks and I LOVE steaks.

The original "Cowboy Steak" at the top of Pinacle Peak in Scottsdale, AZ at the "Pinacle Peak Patio" is the best steak I have ever had. The original Cowboy Steak is a 32 oz Porterhouse cooked on a hot barbeque grill over coals.
I was there last year though and they had just redefined the "Cowboy Steak" to be a 24oz porterhouse instead of the "ole 32 ouncer"!
They invented the cowboy steak, served it for god knows how many years out of a shack that served thousands per day on a good day and then they went and redefined it.
The steak is still the same tasting--the best--but it used to be monstrous in size and it's a shame they stopped serving 2 pound size roasts.
It's still a great experience if you're ever in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

Maybe it's just the outbacks here but I think the outback sucks. Everytime I have gotten a steak there it's been incredibly dry. Because of that I haven't been to the Outback in a while.
Best steak I ever had was at a place called Sullivans. They have a filet covered in crumbled blue cheese and OMG! That was the most tender piece of dead animal I have ever had in my life. It literally falls apart in your mouth.
They have a Ruth's Chris here in Denver and I have thought about going to it. What kinda price tag do they put on a steak?

For a less expensive good steak the Outback does have steaks that rock...
