Why is everyone so scared of homemade Vodka?? Every site I've posted this question on has bad feelings about it. Is it the whole still idea or what?

I guess the point is why? Homebrew beer I can understand but can't hard alcohol mistakes make you blind????

I've got a freind who makes his own White Dog. ( distilled alcohol that has not been casked or aged) He uses corn mash. Funny thing is when he goes to a feed store to buy #300 of corn they want to know what your doin with it cuz I think they have to report it if they think your distillin. My grandpa burnt the house down with a stil during prohabition!
