I use valvoline racing 20-40 non synthetic. I change it evry 20 hrs, cant see the need for synthetic.
the thick shit is hard on your oil pump and bbc dont need 80 90 lbs of pressure. ALso I was told and it made sense, although there are lots of theries out there about straight or multi grade, that since your rpms change so much when boating, low to high and wot runs to idling thru slow zones that a multi grade was actually the better choice. yes i know there are different opinions all probably have some validity

Amsoil purchases their base stock from Mobil One! And resells their product in on a network marketing basis (Pryamid scheme)!

Whatever I can get on a comp as long as it is Racing Oil. Racing oil is made for the kind of abuse a boat motor takes.

Kendal racing, 525HP
Prior to the 525 I had a 540, before I sold the boat the motor had well over 300 hours, that engine is still in service and giving the new owner a lot of reliable fun.
Change oil every 20 hours.

Mobil 1 v-twin for me. Here's some good reading about different types of oils. They aren't all created equally.

Teague recommended Kendall GT-1. Been running it for 3 years now with no problems.
