Is it true? I just heard from a friend that the Indians are going to build a new casino on the California side of Lake Havasu.

Not sure about a new casino, but Havasu Landing on the California side directly across from Havasu City has a smaller casino already.

What's the dealio with all the rentals at that place? I know a lot of people removed their places from the market due to their dispute with the injuns, but does Kathy Scarborough still rent places? I lost her phone number and can't find a new one.
Havasu Landing is a kick ass place to stay and we miss going there.

The indians have had plans for years to do a "big" casino. Will see if it ever happens. The latest plan says they want to put it south of the Landing, directly across from site six. They have a lot of issues to clear first. Hey Shaffewm, I'm your neighbor with the Cobra Cat. The reason they raised our rent is because we are making the place look better! Can you believe that, we clean it up, they do nothing, and the BIA comes in, appraises the place and says they can raise rent! Nice. When you plan on coming back down, havent seen you this winter. How much longer are your snowbirds gonna be in yuor place? We'll be back down in a couple weeks.

I dont understand how they can afford a bigger casino.. they arere flat broke from what I have heard. Hell there are barely any indians out there. They have to bring in workers from across the lake to run the casino because the chemehuevis cant pass the drug test to work at the casino.
I was out there this weekend, and I saw that they are doing some sewer work.. as far as cleaning the place up, it looks the same.

THAT IS HOW IT ALL STARTS. FIRST A LITTLE CASINO TO RAISE CAPITOL FOR A BIGGER CASINO. THEN THE BIGGER CASINO TO RAISE CAPITOL FOR THE BIG HOTEL. THAT IS HOW PALA AND PECHANGA WENT UP.

Now that Vegas casino operating companies like Caesers are partnering with Indian Tribes it won't be long before every "mom & pop" tribe-let will have a casino.

The Chemehuevies have adeal going with the San Manuaels. The San Manuels loaned them money to expand their little casino, and the plan ( or so I am told) was that they would partner together for the big casino. The chemehuevis have also been working on plans for a casino in the Barstow/lenwood area (they say thats their land too!!) A rumor I heard was that all the indian tribes are sitting tight on any plans right now, till they see what gov. Arnold has in mind for his idea of them "paying their fair share" of gaming revenues.

Ya they'll rebuild a new Casino as soon as they built a bridge strait across the lake connecting Havasu & the Landing. (Sarcastic of Course)

Actually, A new casino is years away, as they have plans on paper only. Tons of stuff needs to be done before they could break ground. Funny thing is Sandbar Mike, the Indians have been petitioning for a bridge over the mouth of the river for years. Of course, the Havasu City wants nothing to do with it.
