How much would you pay? It is really a TF51. A P51 with two seats and dual controls!
$750?
I'll know tomorrow, pics will follow!

My dad paid about that to fly in a B17 bomer....
My grandfather flew one in the war, so it was cool for my dad...
He said they burn 2K in gas for the ride per person...

LOL! If I am not mistaken, it burns close to 60gph. I think that would be pretty close to $200 in fuel for one hour...:)

It's a TF51, two place. Longer canopy gives the illusion. Notice the bulkhead just aft of the front seat. The straight 51's have just a jumpseat in the rear. This one has two sets of controls, IIRC.
There's one in Savannah- or was 3 yrs ago.

If you ever have a chance to do this, DO IT!!! You will not regret it. We pulled over 4g's at the bottom of the loops. No barf bag included, So, this is not for the persons with weak stomacs!!:p

I think that this plane is a replica that was built from a straight -51. i.e. someone wanted one really bad and changed it to a two holer. At full song, it will burn well in excess of 100GPH. This is one that we fly and work on,(another story) not quite a mustang, but still cool.http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/485engine-med.jpg

Yea, I found out from my buddy that went with me ( use to wrench on P51s, Corsairs, and other war birds) that it is a P51D that has a jump seat added, but it did have dual controls.
And very cool, never this less!

This painting is hanging in my living room, its one of my favorites by Robert Talor. It's signed by 6 WWII Mustang Ace pilots. Hearing that Merlin engine is music to my ears. Mark

Click here - THIS is a beautiful sound - something that Americans in WWII were always happy to hear whether in B-17s or on the ground (http://www.richardscpas.com//ms/mus/p51.wav)
