Be careful what saleman you talk to. I spoke with one at the boat show that told me that a 24' w/ a 6.2L would run 70 mph. Total bullshit. That thing would barely get on plane let alone run 70.
Aside from that, I really dig the laveys. One of the cleanest gels out there and great rough water boats.

I havent bought just yet.... but I am dealing only with Jeff, one of the owners. The price of the 21 with 6.2 is 49,368.81 otd. And with a 496 add 3000.00 about 52,891.50 add another 750.00 if you want a extreem trailer instead of the Zieman . Imo a little high priced, but I have heard alot of good feedback on this boat. You could add about 8 to 9 thousand more for the 24

Just sold our 21 Lavey. It was a great boat and performed awsome. We had 454 EFI and ran about 70. We mostly boat at Havasu and up to Needles (for great skiing). Our friends bought the 21 last year with the 496, we had a little better performance but they were real happy with their boat also. We have been in some rough water on the lake and it ran great. I loved the built in cooler under the back seat and the small one between the driver and passanger seat. The boat had plenty of storage room for wakeboards, skis, boat gear, beer and ice. Good luck and I highly recommend Lavey and will some day have the 26 hopefully.

I'd sell you my almost 20 year-old 18' Laveycraft for 5th the price of a new one. But you would then have to put up with a smokin eggbeater and a GREEN boat. LOL!

Old Lavey: Mine is a 85'. Does yours have a bunch of high maintaince wood everywhere like mine? I bought this boat used and wish it didn't have it, even though it looks Kinda cool. I havent seen very many around so I was just wondering.
Thanks,
Ethan

No. I don't think that is OEM. Looks like a woodshop teacher used to own your boat;) :D .
Mine looks pretty similar to any newer boat. No guages on top of the dash like yours. All mine are flush mounted in the dash near the steering column. Polished alum gauge bezels and a polished alum dash edge trim piece. Polished passenger grab handle and Formuling steering wheel (same as yours) with polished spokes and column.
Can you just rip that shit out? It looks nice now but I bet you probably have to re-do it every year. You will probably have to rub out the gel coat under it but at least you won't have to worry about it again.
BTW, your boat looks very clean for an 85. Nice old Lavey.

Why not spend $5k more and get a new one? Seems a little high to me.

Great choice IMO! We bought a 21XTSki this summer, also dealt with Jeff. It's definitely the biggest 21 out there, rides great and has tons of storage. Sorry no pics, but the boats is currently here in Chino Hills if you'd like to see one built with the wakeboard storage.
