LONDON - Oil prices forged new one-year highs on Friday as concerns political strife in Venezuela could spin out of control combined with expectations that OPEC will keep its vow to cut output next month.
U.S. gasoline refiners made plans for possible supply disruptions in Venezuela despite assurances from OPEC’s third-biggest producer that this would not happen. The Bush administration said it was “extremely concerned” about surging gas prices.
On Thursday, the head of the U.S. Energy Information Administration said that he expects the average U.S. retail gasoline price to hit a record high this month.

No Russia, Venezuela and other non-opec countries.
What did oil close today $35?
When it gets above $40, we're screwed....... especially if OPEC doesn't increase production if Venezula has a political melt down.

holy cow... this is like triple witching..... Opec cut, civil war in Venezuela, stupid-ass rules in Kalifornia...... get out the vaseline...

$2.25, $2.37, and $2.49 around the corner from my house 20 minutes ago.
I feel great now about working in a poor neighborhood where they only charge $2.12 this evening. Those welfare checks can only go so far.:p
