Why didn't he beach that boat? What was he afraid of, scratching the gel-coat. That makes me proud!

They actually were French soldiers and believe it or not, they were
trying to show off their new land and sea landing craft. The boat
was supposed to crawl right up on the beach and become a
transport vehicle--without stopping. Needless to say, the boat
doesn't work as a vehicle and that was actually their second
attempt at getting it up and over the little sand hill. I don't
think that we need their type of help on our side.
